This makes me so sad. BNL without Steven Page is like peanut butter without jelly, or fish without chips. Beautiful song.

Ive always said to anyone that Steven Page is the only singer I know of that sounds better live than he does on a CD, he just sings with so much emotion in his voice, watching this vidio just about broke my heart, he was clearly at rock bottom and needed his bandmates to be there for him, not toss him aside because it ruined their image. BNL will never be the same without Steve,

When you grow up loving a band and then as a 30 year old you still feel that love for their music, there aren't many bands that you still feel the same about so many years later. I miss Steven Page and BNL, maybe someday they'll be back together and all will be right in the BNL universe.

Such a beautiful song. Still holding out hope that Page will return to the Ladies. Without him, they are good. With them, they are incredible.
@worschtee112 жыл бұрын
I don't think Steve's performance had anything to do w/ drugs. He KNEW he was leaving the band. Dealing with the raw emotions of singing a BEAUTIFUL song while knowing he would NEVER AGAIN sing with them, do another S & D cruise with them, share the stage with them, laugh with them, cry with them, spend time with them as a group OR as friends...you KNOW it affected him. How could it not? And how ironic...he knew that when he "called", his buddies would no longer be there to "answer." So sad.

I can't help but think that musically BNL is like the Beatles... 2 musical giants who ultimately parted ways. In this song, Ed's part even sounds Beatle-like. But I must say I think Steve Page is the most emotionally true and heartwrenching songwriter. Mc

Every time I watch this I end up crying. The song is so emotional anyway, so when you top it off with using it as Page's last song with his band... The emotion in this performance is overwhelming. You can hear and feel his heart breaking as he is singing the last notes of the song. That moment when he realizes the song is over...

I can't help but to imagine that at 0:55 Steve was looking at Ed when he sang '' ...the hardest part...'' He knew it was over. Hope they let the water flow under the bridge one day and realize they're better together. You can really see their friendship in the bathroom sessions. Love those!!!

Such a shame but I fully believe Steve did it totally to himself. He was his own worst enemy at the end of his BNL run. It's so obvious that there is so much tension there and they all know it's over for them as a 5-piece. But I guess Ed, Jim, Kev and Tyler are all happier now. I guess it always sucks when your favourite band loses someone as powerful as Steve...

All breakups create some sort of tension, even if it's not a bitter one. Yes there is some resentment from Ed, Tyler, and maybe Jim and Kevin. However, that doesn't mean they don't care about each other, or even love each other. McCartney and Lennon had a very public and rough split when the Beatles broke up, but they still loved each other dearly (which is obvious by the many many times they visited each other in the 70s, when they almost went on SNL together, and McCartney's song Here Today).

You can tell the band is not tight.The vocals are flat and disjointed. Such a sad example of the greatness that is the BNL. One wonders if Page was using during this and how he got it on the ship...regardless, I have hope that they will reunite to resume the brilliance that was, sadly I fear I have grown up only to have memories of what was the greatest expression of music that I have ever known. I miss them, together, terribly.

They have continued without him, which is a shame if you ask me, because as much as I'd like to I can't get into anything they've done without him. It's just sad on so many levels. Its sad for him, his band mates, his family that he embarrased, the fans....but the band has def moved forward. Their concert this summer was awesome. Approximately five days later, Page decided he wanted out. The decision was not made public until 24 February. The band is still strong and makes perfect pop. Page was a duel-edged sword. He played a vital part in the chemistry but was also moody and easily the most serious of the band.
