Lead animator from Affray (SCP: 5K) here! Mocap is rarely used in viewmodel animations, but recording yourself doing the reloads is often used for reference. The reason I personally dont use mocap for these kinds of animations is the fact that so much exaggeration of the movements has to be done by hand-keying, so it's just easier to do it all by hand. That doesn't mean you can't use mocap for this, just that I don't think it's worth it 😊

I do love the guns that we have, but I hope they add more over time. There's so many cold war icons missing from here. The G36, the G3, FAMAS. Also, the L85A1 here is close in model, but not in use. Taking the opportunity to make the joke of "not an accurate portrayal because it doesn't fail to feed every 5 minutes", but other than that, the handguard is the wrong shape, the operator reaches WAY too far back to hit the bolt release catch, which is even visible on the model and is clearly not where the operator reaches for. There's also no forward assist, which was added to training manuals SPECIFICALLY because of the A1 model having a dogshit bolt. You need to be manually smacking the bolt to make sure it's fully shut, not doing that is a death sentence and almost guarantees that the rifle won't feed properly. It's a really terrible rifle, but I like seeing it in video games, as I've been trained on and used the A2 variant extensively.

Yeah that bothered me. I don't get why they'd have the AEK-971, whose entire purpose was to have extremely low recoil in full auto, instead of the AN-94 which famously had the hyperburst feature. I know the AN-94 wasn't being produced as of the game's timeframe, but there are plenty of options for burst ARs that they could have used without kind of rewriting the features of an existing firearm
