The story was so good, it kept me glued to the screen the whole time. Back in the days when devs still cared about good story telling in their games. In a way the game is ironic because you follow the story of a brainwashed guy, but at the same time the game "brainwashes" you, the player, to kill hundreds of people without remorse. You are given orders, targets, told who to follow, told who to kill, told which way to go and at the end the game even orders you to drown a man. That was pretty dark. Im glad these games had a M rating. Yes i know all FPS games are like this, but given the story, i thought it was pretty ironic in this one :)

Admiral Roberto for instance it just said 1961 bay of pigs...you get thrown an M16 with red dot sight. The original M16 wasn't adopted until 1964 and red dot sights didn't really come along until the late 1980's. So there you are starting the game off with wrong shit.

I was 16 when this came out. My friend Jonny and I got super baked the night it came out and stayed stoned through the whole campaign. The JFK ending with that freeze frame of Mason made us lose our shit and I thought the story was the most beautiful mind fuck ever. The story stuck with me ever since and I was crazy excited to hear about about Cold War. Personally, I thought it was great, including the battle pass storyline. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy the references and ongoing story with ol Jonny, RIP, but I'd like to think he would've enjoyed it too. Both of us always liked to think Reznov would really show up at some point, like in Zombies or something. But like ol Jonny, Reznov is gone for good. Ironically enough, he died protecting someone too. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and stay safe in your travels.

It is pretty wild that Kravchenko was spraying Nova 6 in Vietnam when in actuality the US were the ones who deployed chemical weapons and sprayed Agent Orange. Of course, the VCA committed a great deal of democide during their campaign, so it isn't as if they were innocents. On the otherhand, chemical weapons and an indiscriminate weapon and even now AO plagues the descendants of those who were exposed to it, including civilians and US servicemen.

This story mode is forever my favorite, I played it on Wii back then 🥴.. the entire story mode consistently back to back & can not WAIT to play it again sum day 😫 . +ZapperFrost ClashofClans&Minecraft it doesn't at all I wished we got some kind of continuation of the Mason family story ex mason and Harper those were great campaigns I'd wish that the bo3 campaign was more stealth and had action it was more use this gadget to full proofly end mission then awesome sequence with perfect moment for quick action sequence no it just does it your self the only good thing was when you beat it you get an awesome suit for your character that is a badass world war 2ish outfit with the coolest goggles now I do hope they make a game that is modern like the good ol days of cod

I think black ops is one of the only games that would end up having a live action thriller film adaptation that would be just as good as the game, if they Kept the storyline straight, transferred it from first to third person, and stuck with the original dialogue and turn of events. The game itself has everything, plot twists, gripping storyline, decently accurate voice acting, and an original, underrated historical time period to take place in. Black ops was officially the most revolutionary FPS game since modern warfare, but what is so special about this one, is that the gameplay, as well as cutscenes have a great way of making it feel like you, the player are part of the most realistic war movie.
