They've had a history of this "labs" type thing before 2042. BF4 had what they called the "CTE" or community test environment that has it's own map developed & eventually released to the live game with feedback from the community & it's whole purpose was basically a live server where they would test new weapons, ttk changes & so on, it was actually a very innovative way of testing game changes, without destroying the current public version of the game.

BF 2025 needs to do everything the opposite of BF2042. BF2042 didn't feel like a BF game. It looked like one but it felt in hand like Warface. BF1,3,4, & even Hardline had that in hand experience that felt like Battlefield. Hope they bring it back.

I’ve played CoD since the beginning but I was more into Killzone and BF games in the 2010s. I liked the whole squad play on a large scale and players having roles. The destructive environments were great too. If done right could TRULY give CoD the kick in the arse they need to get right. I personally would switch to take a CoD break.

As someone who left CoD after MW and jumped into BF2042 when it was free on PS5, the cheating is/was 10x worse than cod. The console player base was almost non existent unless there was some event going on and it was only Conquest or Breakthrough with the McKay and Sundance tryhards flying everywhere. The last thing BF needs to do is try and compete with anyone, how about just a good game.

I’m originally a battlefield player. All the way up until there last release. They are great at making you think it’s gonna be great. You pay $100 & it’s beyond crap. There biggest problem is the size scale of people are so small & maps are way to big. Scopes don’t pull people in close, like in COD.
