INTENTION
1. Objectives
a) To further cripple Battleship Tirpitz in preparation for pending RAF bombing missions.

INFORMATION
2. Enemy
a) Static defenses in area of operations.
Norwegian resistance reports ship undergoing repairs and damage appraisal near Tromsø. Skeleton crew reported, with majority of crewmembers on shore leave throughout Håkøya and Tromsø region.
b) State of alertness.
The enemy is preoccupied with anti-air defense. As they are aboard a heavily armed and escorted ship, their expectation of being boarded is likely to be low.
METHOD
3. Outline
a) The Norwegian resistance reports that a small watercraft is scheduled to transfer new officers to the Tirpitz from the Tromsø region, at 7:00 PM. Intercept it, liquidate the occupants, and take their place with the aid of forged documents and appropriate attire of rank supplied by SOE.

• Mission Objectives:
Board the German Battleship Tirpitz.
Locate the ship's armory.
Retrieve the explosives from the armory.
Plant the explosives on the ship's boilers.
Destroy the anti-air radar electronics near the bridge.
Retrieve the naval patrol logs.
Return to Sergeant Waters at the supply boat.

This is something I really wish I could see remastered! Tirpitz is my favourite battleship but I never got to play this game and it’s a very unique concept! Seeing the ship remastered accurately would be amazing. This mission taking place in October 1944 means Tirpitz was only a few weeks away from her unfortunate demise, the “pending RAF bombing missions” mentioned in the briefing referred to Operation Catechism which took place on the 12th November 1944 where the battleship would be struck by multiple Tallboy bombs dropped by Lancasters of No. 617 and No. 9 squadron and capsized, taking over 1000 men with her. An interesting thing that should be known is that a previous attack by Lancasters back in September 1944 called Operation Paravane had struck the ship with a single but devastating hit to the bow, so bad in fact that Tirpitz was no longer seaworthy, and she would spend the last few months of her career as a floating artillery battery to deter an allied invasion of Norway. She had effectively already been taken out the war and therefore making this mission technically unnecessary, but the allies had no idea of this damage so it’s why this mission went on.
