Comparison between Insurgency Sandstorm and CoD Modern Warfare 3. Who wins?

Sandstorm for the win. Plus the recoil on every weaponry feels more realistic and designs for it just like the IRL counterpart. Insurgency also use real names +100 score.

@@anrichilingaryan4774 true on the different games. I just don't like it when people say Black Ops and MW are in the same universe. IMO it's not and their two different games.

@@anrichilingaryan4774 well. iMO MW reboot is on the same universe as AW, IW and Vanguard. But IMO the OG MW it's in own timeline while IMO (sorry for the many of the same word) Black Ops started WaW and had nothing to do with the MW reboot universe. It does share universe with the OG MW (yes the reboot series of MW made zero sense.) (Someone named after Dimitri Petrenko from OG MW3 was named after him and Kravchenko was also an Easter egg in the OG MW universe.

The new weapons in INS:S don't feel much of that weigh anymore because of the almost bland animation.

the current Devs arent the original devs. Sadly the OG left sometime after 1.4 (I think ?), and let new devs recruited from the Publisher to work on the game. I still remember the crucial message the OG devs had, that is that they would never add tacticool weapons or elements (e.g. Desert eagle, Vector, any kind of tactical reload like COD)

@ZoomerStasi that, and they have senior animator Ronan motherfucking Sarono AKA Hyper3D. Fun tidbit actually, one of the main animators from Sandstorm got hired for the Treyarch animation team last year.

I dont mind the slow reload in insurgency because i feel like thats when i would be trying to take deep breathes in actual combat

Listen, I get tje M4A1 in MWIII looks fancy and all, but at the end of the day, it's an M4A1 with the URG-I configuration or whatever you wanna call it. The Mk. 18 is a completely different gun and the M4A1 is featured in IS. So what gives? Now you're comparing the SG and HK... I'm out.

MWlll animations are the only things that I appreciate Insurgency sandstorm has a lot of things that do better than MWlll. Correct gun models, real names, realistic feel of the recoil. And they even got the kriss vector correct unlike most AAA games

Overuse of movement and camera to impart force and aggression vs Overuse of smooth movements to impart deliberation, weight and control I vote for smooth, it's closer to what I can achieve without resorting to a speed overdose. Also Sandstorm has better sound design.

​@@Slammedf18The reloads are down to preference, but MW23's style is overused at this point and isn't unique. I can't figure out how you'd go for sound design, though. MW23's sounds are all muffled and washed out, like they're filtered through ear protection. They lose so much depth. Sandstorm is more metallic, more mechanical, the guns sound closer to the complex mechanical things they are in real life. It makes the guns sound meatier and more satisfying.

I think cod mw3 is better, insurgency is good don't me wrong, but the reloads have an absolutely stupid lack of urgency, it doesn't feel you are in a firefight it feels like you are in a gun range. The recoil is also better imo, although it was better in mw2019 and mw2022, is still superior to insurgency, idk why but in mw3 it feels like an actual kick from the recoil, is much more sudden and inmediate, in insurgency it feels like it was somekind of a constant push extended through some fractions of a second instead of an inmediate kickback, it also does a better Jobs at representing the operator trying to push the sight down as the gun fires to compensate the recoil. I think if they included mw3 animations with the operators actually taking time to take their mags out of their pouches and some other minor fixes, like operators using the slide or bolt catch on the guns they should like scar and pistols, instead of racking the changing handle for some reason, it would be perfect.

The thing I've found in watching the infantry combat footage you can get on KZbin, is that "lack of urgency" tends to characterize the reloads you can see in videos. Getting shot at tends to raise your stress level, and attempting to rush in a stressful environment increases the chance of mistakes. If you're desperate, Sandstorm does have emergency reloads, that dump the magazine and feature more urgent movements.

@@StarkRaven59 Well, I disagree. I don't think someone is going to avoid rushing a reload as much as we see in insurgency, like, just look how characters hit the bolt catch or rack the charging handle on most empty reloads, those things can be done in a fraction of a second, yet it seems like the user is trying his hardest to extent it to a full one. Other than that I agree that in most infantry footage that I've seen they tent to reload slowly. But for what I see that's normally because engagements between infantry usually take place at plenty of good distance, allowing infantrymen to take cover and take all the time they want to reload, as there is no risk of getting flank by enemy or something like that. In close quarters like in Insurgency or MW were most combat takes place in less than a 100 meters 90% of the time, then I'll say is different and I think mw reloads fit more.

@@pablosoleramaeso4561 A visual counterpoint: watch?v=4h7MAdyQZLw&t=25s Notice in particular how long it takes this guy to draw his magazine, and locate the charging handle. And this is our hypothetical danger close scenario. Also try and compare the time it takes for this guy versus Sandstorm.

Slow reload animations doesn't mean realism. If a game makes me feel like I need to use force to use the weapon, then that game is realistic for me. And CoD makes it feel better than Insurgency. If a game can make me feel the recoil of the gunpowder, then that game is realistic for me. CoD makes it better than IS. 3 years ago, people were complaining that the reload animations in IS were too comfortable. They complain that reloads are far from the excitement of real combat. I wonder what happened now that their ideas have changed. Maybe it's because CoD releases equivalent games one after the other.

Sandstorm better than MW3. Here, the reload speed depends on the ability to use the weapon with handling.
