in all honesty because of various things, for once the tone of games like cod ww2 and bf v was so bright that it cut away all of the terror of war that these games should portray.Like i remember in cod ww2 the only part where you see some f*cked up things was at the end at the concentration camps and even then it was super toned down.Its themes were also kinda interesting but executed horribly with things like including a black soldier because "racism is bad" and not even doing anything with it.Also it had quick time events that just honestly ruined the mood of the game, since it's trying to be realistic(like for f* k sake ,this isnt resident evil 5).They also are super irrealistic like bf v with its innacurate weapons ....Another thing is that their all from the pov of the americans which gets repetitive,like jesus how many d-days do we need?!?!?.....And dont get me started on the multiplayers of those games

If the opening bombardment and the human-wave attack of the Germans towards the entrenched Russians wasn't enough of a clue, it seems to me that the Devs REALLY wanted to do a German campaign but we aren't quite there yet in the historiography of public perception, especially not when this was released. Maybe one day, but it can't shy away from portraying the nasty bits. CoD: WW2 was very meek in portraying this sort of subject matter, so I do not think they'll ever be ballsy enough to do it - or at least to do it correctly.

Also, the weapons models were usually pretty sexy in this game but good-lord that mosin is ugly and incorrect. I love how he just puts the whole stripper-clip in the gun as if it had a Mannliecher action or something. Such innocent times for game development. :')
