2:20:04 My grandpa fought against the Japanese in the Solomon Islands and in Guam. He was a part of the Tongan defense force and was 1 of only 50 Tongans to serve along side the First Commando Fiji Guerilla's with the US. Sadly he said many of the U.S. Marines died because of snipers or machine guns in the coconut trees. Many of the US soldiers had never seen the ocean before until deployment so they weren't acquainted with the terrain and environment, not knowing that heavy vegetation doesn't grow on the sand where the Japanese would place their hollowed out trees. It was like shooting fish in a barrel at that point. When my grandpas squad dispatched, they immediately mowed down the treetops on the sand killing all the Japanese gunmen. They overtook the main base when Tongan Marine Second Lieutenant Heneli Taliai led his men and ultimately sacrificed himself to take out a Japanese bunker causing heavy enemy casualties which allowed time for allied troops to eventually take back the Solomon Islands. My grandpa was only 17 and he killed his first enemy in hand to hand combat that day. Something he didn't ever take pride in. It was July 12, 1943. A day he said he'd never forget. He and my grandma later uprooted from their native Tonga, leaving behind the Polynesian paradise in the South Pacific and moved my Dad and his siblings here to the US in 1970 where we've been in Utah ever since.. He's passed on now and I'm proud of him. My whole family is. I hope we've made him proud as well. Rest In Power Grandpa.🙏🏾🇺🇸🇹🇴 Happy Veterans Day. "Mate Ma'a Tonga" 🗡🛡🩸

This campaign doesn't hit hard as older cod games set in ww2. Everything was well except writing, historical accuracy with weapons especially. They were too focused on writing about Arthur's race for some reason, events and pacing were meh. The campaign could've been longer especially Japan and Africa. The last mission was clean ngl, transitions were nice. It has potential but they need to tune up the writing and better research on history, even WAW and older games were accurate.

Ah, yes, T34-85 in Stalingrad. I see that the Soviet Army had used their time machine to get those there to defend the city years before they were sketched, when they were already struggling to equip their elite tank units with the first models of the T34-76. The German Army must have been using the same time machine to get their infantry equipped with STG44 and shotguns, and their Japanese allies some STG44s and MG42s in 1943, and the American Army must've used theirs to get some Sherman 76s in the Pacific, not that they needed them. I miss the old Call of Duties, in which they had actual historians and people that were paid to at least tell them what equipment they can put in what map, and what they can't do. Like do whatever you want in the multiplayer, but at least try to have SOME consistency with the campaign. edit: I need to stop editing this comment every time I see a mistake from the game's part. @@熊掌波清波 that’s the thing, SBD bombers DID dogfight zeros during the battle of midway, after they dropped their bombs, they proved to be more maneuverable than the zeros expected, and not only did they not lose a single plane, they damaged two of them heavily enough that they had to be sent back to their carriers. Beyond that, this little dogfight distracted the zeros , who were SUPPOSED to be escorting the Hiryu’s counter strike against task force 17 after they lost 3 carriers from the US attack on the kido butai. Directly resulting in the strike not actually sinking the Yorktown as expected. Resulting in their second strike ALSO being sent at the Yorktown rather than the 2 untouched remaining carriers. The SBD bombers dogfight against Zeros indirectly saved the US an entire carrier

Interesting little story I found out about my Great Grandpa Bill Hopps. During WW2 he fought in the pacific as an American and he did not like any weapons that he had to choose from because he said they were to heavy. So he picked the M1911 pistol as his only weapon. He later on found a Japanese machine gun nest and took the entire nest out with only a M1911. He got rewarded the Silver Star for what he did. And my other Great Grandpa also got the Silver Star for saving many wounded people in the Philippines.

the story i not well told. the did a bf1 rip off, just got all main characters into a so called special unit and then made a sweet rreunion in a jail where we can see one of them narrating the stories of all other characters. such a cliche way of doing things moreover i dint like even a single character

I know eveyone talks about all the innacuracies of weapons and locations and troops but the biggest innacuracy for me feels how arogant and hero-esque the soldiers were. That's why older games were so much more authentic as so many comments point out. They tried to portray the horrors of war and that even the good guys weren't always good and they certainly didn't have this teenager smugness about them. People were afraid and didn't want to die, they were shell-shocked and broken from seeing their friends killed. At the end of the day there is nothing 'epic' or amazing about war, it's a gruesome and horrible experience and any portrayal, other than this fact, is utterly innacurate. But then again this is a game and a game has to appeal to as wide audience as possible. Seeing people die left and right isn't entertaining and would probably not be well received so they go for all these inconsistencies and special effects

agreed, and more than that, the game portrait violence in a disturbing manner. the knife between specific bones and the burning final boss alive. ordinarily, superheros don't lynch in a movie, they would hold the violence surge of the audience and promot the value of justice and trial. This one...depiced hatred so thoroughly and directly. it make wonder what is wrong with the social atmosphere to produce script like this. it is so forced, political oriented and illogical in the story core.

It's like trying to talk about an 80 year old person but make it sound as if they are 20 years old
