Call of Duty Warzone BEST graphics settings - Maximize FPS

This video compares all the settings inside Call of Duty Warzone to figure out the best settings that will give the most FPS while still maintaining a good-looking game. You can either try out my recommendations or make your own based of the comparisons I show in the video.
Call of Duty Warzone was an interesting title to look at, because it has several different settings that I have never seen before such as the possibility to stream high graphics while you are playing.

Maybe someone already said it, but particle quality also has an effect on everything drawn at distance. you may lose 10 frames on high, but you can distinguish people at range instead of everything being a block. Texture streaming affects the pop-in of objects, like when you are parachuting or taking the helo across the map.

After testing it myself I gotta be honest I do not see any difference in terms of draw distance from changing the particle quality. However you are not the only one who has mentioned it, but why that is happening I do not know. Particle quality should not affect that at all.

@@BachTechNGames i read somewhere that its a bug, and it doesn't effect everyone. It definitely happens to me, and I wonder if it has something to do with other settings inside of nvidia control panel. I tried to figure it out a few months back but i wasn't set up to collect data, but my guess is its a filter optimization setting/s near the bottom of NVCP, like trilinear or the other one in combination with the way warzone handles AA and texture filtering

Thanks for the detailed performance video. It is unfortunate that Warzone is unoptimized. Trust me, your CPU is not a problem. If you tried other battle royal games that Warzone is just not optimized. I read the config files and it’s showing the wrong driver for the GPU. I really hope that implementating DLSS to the game will change it for the better.

@@AldorCrap Yeah those are some really high temps. SInce it is a laptop I would recommend to figure out where the laptop sucks in air and make sure that it has access to fresh air. You might want to invest in a air breeder for a laptop.

Nice video! One mistake that is worth noting: you said it backwards when discussing Filmic Strength. This should be set to 1 when AA is anything LESS than SMAA T2X. (Per the note in the game: "If the anti-aliasing option is *NOT* set to SMAA T2X or Filmic SMAA T2X, set Filmic Strength to 1.00...."

nice, and detailed video but at 3:46 if particle quality is on low all of the trees are really blurry, gunshots are very blurry and its just disgusting looking at that but if you have it at high its all good no blur

Thanks for doing these tests! This is all amazing info. When you record a comparison, are you simply going to spot on the map and adjusting the setting up or down then recording the change? Or are you quitting the game, changing settings, and then queuing up for a new game and going back to the same area? The reason I ask is because in my experience, I'm getting VERY different results for some of these settings changes. When I turn the shadow map resolution to very low, it looks significantly worse than your example. A tree would only render as a blocky-blob of a shadow and it would in no way show leaves. I wonder if it's because when someone is already loaded into a game, the engine will use the shaders that were first loaded. So any settings changes won't be applied until you enter a new game (or maybe even restart the application).

My tests are done differently depending on the game. In Warzone I would go into a match, find a good location to test the specific setting and then try all of the variants of that setting. However a lot of the times I would not have time enough to test all the variants at once, either because of other players or the circle moving in. I only restarted the game between the different days of recording, but never when I was in the middle of recording a specific setting, I would finish that one and call it a day. I did not notice a need to restart the game for the changes to take effect, however I just tested Rust and in that game I found some settings where I actually had to restart between each variant of the specific setting for the change to take effect. That was because, like you said, that the textures where still loaded inside the VRAM. Sorry for the long answer, but it is defently something I will try to look out for more in future test, because with some settings it will make a big difference.

It sucks that you might have to restart the game after each change now since I think that would add to your workload significantly, but it could give you a bit more accurate results if you wanted to have the definitive 100% best answer on the impact of all of these settings. To be honest I had a 1080ti which had been breaking down for half a year and I was waiting to get the 3080 but I wasnt so lucky and after waiting for a long time to get it, I got tired of it all and just bought a 3090 instead... can you tell me why in warzone (is not the same in any other game) my cpu utilization is mostly at 50-60% and my gpu is only at 50-70%? Most of the time my CPU utilization is even higher Ryzen 5 3600 (4,2GHz) 32 GB RAM RTX 2080

That is because you are being CPU bound. Warzone is very taxing on the CPU, therefor you CPU simply cannot keep up. Normally you CPU would be fine with the selected GPU, but this game just really likes to have a ton of CPU ressources. I would recommend to cap you FPS at an amount you can maintain to avoid dips in FPS. Since you have the GPU headroom you could try to choose higher settings, you might not loose any FPS because you are CPU bound.

Check that you have your dram memory running in the XMP profile (from bios) and put rendererworkercount to 6 in the adv_options.ini file found under documents -> Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2019 -> players.

Hello, someone knows if the dynamic resolution option makes any difference at all? i could'nt really tell

Did not test dynamic resolution, but the difference you will see depends on the target FPS you set. So if you set a target of 80 FPS and you can only get 60 FPS then it will lower the resolution undtil you can get 80 FPS, this can make the game look really ugly and should really only be used as a last resort in my opion. Which is also why I did not test it.

Okay, intersting, that might be because you had some GPU headroom which could take care of the extra workload from the high setting, or because your CPU cannot keep up, because the FPS is already as high as it can push it.

Packet loss is connected to your internet, and wont be affacted by the PC itself, unless the LAN controller in the PC is the problem. Therefore you have to troubleshoot your internet connection, like e.g. make sure you are on LAN and not WIFI, make sure nothing is downloading in the background, make sure others are not using to much of the internet, test if this happens in other games aswell.

That is a bit wierd, where have you testet it? It wont have the same fps change everywhere. It might also be because you are already limited by your CPU? Then changes to the settings wont make much of a difference.

Check your Nvidia/Radeon global settings, they could be overriding those set in game. This goes for a lot of other settings inc AF, vsync, FPS limit etc.

@@BachTechNGames A 4.9ghz 8700k should pull 130-144fps. I´m pretty sure you're not bottlenecked by maxing out CPU usage. Since your CPU around the 80-90fps mark, is running around 50-60%. It's strange....., you should take another look on it. You are replacing a perfectly viable CPU for 144hz gaming. A 5800x stock should give around 5-10% boost in fps compared to your tunned 8700k, and tunned, around the same, since extra 100-150mhz wont get you anywhere.
