What I love about this game is that it was never story driven nor had inspiration from Hollywood films, it throws you into the horrors of ww2 with a protagonist that's just an ordinary soldier who's being ordered to take out the PT boats and rescue other soldiers while being ordered by other soldiers, the music was very intense and helped immerse you into it and I love it

COD: WaW is very Nietzchean in its presentation. All grit and vitality, no place for morality. Only sheer willpower. The messaging is all about surviving and overcoming a titanic struggle, the men within it defined and given meaning by that struggle. Very powerful. Probably the best COD narratively.

I would fucking love a War Thunder custom mission that is Black Cats adapted to it. Two PBY Catalina's, merchant ships, a whole lot of gunboats, then Zeroes coming to strafe at you (how will you survive these 20mm cannon rounds? i don't know there), having to survive until a massive squad of F4U Corsairs arrive. With you being able to take control of the Catalina and the gunners, I would fucking love that. And don't forget the BGM, is a MUST for it.

Willing to bet the PT boats in WaW are the T-14 or T-25 PT boats. T-14s only had a 13.2mm gun and torps. Can’t really find a lot of data on the T-25.

@@dawatzerz Yeah, but the only controversial thing in MW2 was "Remember, No Russian". World at War is a lot more brutal and filled with gore. For example, if you shot an enemy with a shotgun at his legs, it would blow one or both of them off, or when you shot an enemy with the PTRS-41 at the head, it would completely destroy it. Activision would just remove the gore and brutality of the game, which was something that made it unique. The games ability to just go "fuck your feelings, this is war" is something that devs are too scared to replicate in this day and age, which is a shame considering that's how its meant to be done.

Personally I think that the ship sank because of how it was carrying a ton of explosives that caused most of the damage. Also I might have not been well armored because it was trying to pass as a merchant ship. I agree with you that a black cat plane would be unable to sink a normal vessel as quickly. But it could also be that the ship sank easily in order to make it not drag on.

Well to be fair, they were shooting it from above and the armor would likely be more thin there, plus from what i can see, they put gasoline tank and ammunition stockpile just underneath it, you know why kido butai carrier got sunk quickly? Well its because majority of the damage came from the detonation of their own ammo and fueled aircrafts hanging below from just ONE lucky dive bomb on american attack on kaga carrier. The ships probably did not expect PBY raid during the night as well.

Also the pby are also equipped with torpedoes and sometimes dept charges They’re also called submarine hunters because they’re also made to counter u bouts in the Atlantic. There also made for reconnaissance, patrol bombing, and rescuing people in enemy waters which you do in the missions
