Hey everyone, dev here. Reminder to check the description for my support links! And some things were fixed featured here before the video went live: - Cooperative play on FTE (PC, web) now has a dedicated menu for creating and joining matches. - Map makers can now disable the Double-Tap 2.0 damage buff - Melee-to-dive on FTE is now disabled - Entering Last Stand will no longer have your idle animation appear prone - Last Stand bleedout timing is no longer inconsistent - Revive icons in Co-Op are much more consistent in spawning - AI responsiveness has generally been improved - AI will now walk directly towards the player given certain circumstances on all platforms instead of just FTE, and it no longer has trouble navigating around corners - Crawler's limbs on PSP/3DS now properly render. Probably some more I've forgotten, thanks for the coverage Lexi!

Hiya, as soon as I heard it was on PC/Linux I immediately installed it and played it while I was listening to the video. While there was abit of setup funkiness with updating the control scheme from the one other person who uploaded one and setting up the graphics settings, I was able to get quite a good experience while absolutelty sipping power from my Deck. My only issue is that at 60fps/VSync, there was really bad camera stutter that went away when I capped to a higher framerate like 180fps and above, and it froze my Steam Deck once or twice, probably funkiness with playing a native linux version in console mode. Thank you for putting god knows how much time into this project and thank you Lexx for shouting it out and making such a gud video about it!

Hey all! Former lead-dev here from way back when (2009-2014…ish?) When I last stepped away from the game after the “demo” release, I would have never imagined that others would pick up where the old team left off and just keep going. It’s been amazing coming back after all these years and see the project evolve and reach places I never even imagined, places that I couldn’t have ever taken it. I feel a special satisfaction in seeing other people infected by the same magic of this game that led me to obsess over it for years. Shoutout to the current NZ:P team for absolutely killing it, and thanks Lexi for the video!

Aside from the impressive numbers of ports this game has, it is also the closest thing we have to an open source version of the CoD zombies game mode, it should be really talked more around. The mapping section of this video was also really great since you showcased how easy is to make maps, I might even do something for it. Thank you for this video and thank you to the NZ:P team for making this possible!

I just downloaded the game and immediately loaded up your maps. They are AWESOME! As an avid Zombies player, and as someone who used to play the DS Black Ops maps like daily on the bus to school, I must say, they play SO much better with perks, pack-a-punch, wonder weapons, and the ability to train and NOT DIE IN ONE HIT, all while maintaining that retro handheld feel. Thank you for showing us that this exists and thanks to the devs for making this in the first place. I really wanna go make my own map now :D

I used to be a mapper for NZP in its alpha stages on the PSP. It was honestly pretty nuts to see these talented homebrew developers take a 20+ year old engine(quake) and cram modern game features into it. There was no money involved and basically no incentive for the social media clout that we have now. It was totally a different time. I cannot believe that this project is STILL getting passed around and worked on today.

Yes. This game touches my dark soul. I have a primal connection to the zombies - being the Zombie Lord of Plagues and Virulent Oppression. In the same manner as depression slowly reduces one's defenses to nothing, turning the host against itself in a downward suicidal arc, so to will my undead Zombies - unrelenting and innumerable - come for the souls of all human life until there are none left to rent asunder.

@@guso1349 On the old version? Hit multiplayer, then Host and click okay with the port being 26000. It will bring you to a black screen with options. Select a map to play by going down to "episode" and switching from "tutorial" to "original maps". Select any map and hit "begin game" at the top. The game will load and drop you in. At that point, everyone types "connect [Your IP address]" in the console (Or click Multiplayer and type the IP address in at the Join screen) and it should connect. It may screw up a few times, but just try again and it'll work eventually. You can change maps easily with "map [map name.bsp]" in the console. Hope you have fun boyo! (Remember to take the quotes out of the commands for the console and make sure to type pause in the console so you won't die as people try to connect.)

NZ:P has been one of my strange childhoods, I remember playing the 1.0 and 1.1 beta version so long ago, it was honestly...wild. I actually found myself addicted more than Call of Duty World at War's custom zombie maps. I wasn't really sure why I was pretty addicted to it for the time but I think there was something that makes it so unusually special that still holds up to this day. Although, I was pretty saddened when it became discontinued with no real updates as time went on, thus leaving me to move on to other things as my memories about NZ:P during the early days faded away. Until several years later, when I found out that it actually on-going as a re-boot, I was so relieved that it's back and I immediately fell in love with it again. Heck, even to the point where maybe I can finally create custom maps that I've dreamed about kinda so much when I was young back then. That juice is still there back from my head but, I remained unsure where do I go from there, be a part of the community than me being isolated most of the time, and obviously hop on for co-op that I have never experienced yet. That being said, Thank you for covering this that I'm still fascinated with nowadays.

Man, I remember removing the dust off from my PSP and ended up addicted to it for a while. I think I may still have a couple of things on there that haven't been touched since then. I was interested on getting into creating stuff for it, but IRL and the directions my life took kind of drifted me away from doing so or playing this. I was pretty dedicated and interested to see how the whole thing was built though. The looks of this game really have changed since I last gave it a shot. Cleaner, better audio, better atmosphere, etc. It has that perfect mixture of the aesthetics from the main titles, while mixing it with cleaner textures that reminds me of the early mobile titles. There's just something so pleasing about playing in a whole environment with much less polygons. Has me curious if custom player models would be possible, despite how it's mostly a cosmetic thing. Albeit I haven't considered picking one of the older or newer titles to get back into Zombies, this would probably be the perfect way to scratch that itch beside jumping on something like Deep Rock Galactic.

The most interesting part of the pc port, in my opinion, is the fact that you can run it in your browser.
