Apparently the place Harrison is now working is Miskatonic University, a frequent place namedropped throughout HP Lovecraft's works esspecially those surrounding the Cthulhu mythos. Although Harrison should probably be careful. If he's working there he'll have to put up with a really creepy dude making zombies.

Oh God I wish there was a 'call of the sea 2' where we got to meet other fish people and Norah was welcomed and smoothed into the community, like taught the things she needed and goes on a sea adventure and shares human knowledge or uses her human knowledge to aid the other fish folk....or maybe her husband goes back on a quest to become a fish person to join his wife to live happily together in the sea and how he gets used to it!

Here's the problem with that: the primary attraction of Lovecraftian horror is the mystery of the world and the unknowability of its gods. I feel as if the story is made all the more better if the epilogue is left to our imaginations.

@@henrydimmock2691 it seems someone is very in tune with their genres, indeed, for the "vibe" the story was going for, it's best that no canon ending is present, where the finality of it is left up to interpretation, that's what gives Call of the Sea its "call" if you will

Honestly, when she return to the eldritch sea, there's is no way she will remember her human life anymore. It is to accept a fate to become one with the elder god. That means to abandon your past self and embrace the whatever it means to become those 'water animals'. Norah no longer exist.

I feel like Rejecting fate and returning to Harry is more happy yet sad. Either way, accepting fate looks cool but sad to put it. Rejecting the fate and returning to Harry is better in my opinion.

if staying on the island without the ritual being done makes her feel REALLY good, why dont they just stay on the island together? peacful, nice & no body to bug ya except a boat which you can probably trade with :) id have stayed both of them

I think it's implied that even without the deception the island was actually VERY detrimental to the mental (and even physical in Frank's case) health of anyone who wasn't a child of the old God. it's like the magic that fuels them drains anyone else

There's something at 6:44 to 6:50 that makes your voice and the game (all sound) cut out and it freezes for that time too I don't know if you know about that already or not but you might want to see what could be doing that but this could also just be my Laptop messing up too so

Tiny spoilers for the video- You missed a little camp spot, their final camp spot that's why you didn't know about Cass shooting Harry I assume.? And I also would choose being a fish person- but it's a hard decision especially so because she truly found her soulmate. But also couldn't Harry just come visit her on the island? Like she doesn't HAVE to become a fish person, she could just live on the island so her sickness doesn't get the better of her and he can still visit from time to time so the madness doesn't overtake him.

Because if she did not die and became fishperson there is that and what if harry found another path to her? also will not spoil it but someone had to send that knife to that person from the start so who was really funded the expidition to start with?

No, everything was there. He sourced the funding where he could. They found the knife on the island and after everything with the reporter, he took the knife and left the island to another one and from there sent the knife to Norah, having set up the "scavenger hunt" to deceive her and get her to perform the ritual (which was done in the Well) and make the choice to leave him, become a water creature and live forever.

@@swardinc She didn't. The expedition, the whole group, found the knife. She stashed it when she started losing her sanity so she could use it later. She used it. Harry found it. Harry sent it to Norah.

Because it hurt people where not children of the gods, like she was. The island also brings calamity to them - many on the ship died as sea creatures were compelled to attack it. The island accepts on the god's children and rejects all others. She'd be fine, but Harry would eventually lose all sanity and health.

All children would be like she was. A descendant of the elder god. The child would eventually have to make the choice too: live alone, immortal, as a water creature, or suffer a shortened life, sick, with a chance of finding love (which, realistically, would be rare). Would you want to willingly subject your children to that?
