I really appreciate this crossover review with another reviewer! I am surprised by how much the format still feels like you Rahdo!

Yay Rahdo has a legend on the channel. Shea's how to plays for Twilight Imperium Fourth Edition, Star Wars Rebellion and Eldritch Horror have been invaluable.

He does a really good job at matching the cadence and flow of your voice! This could have been really risky, introducing a new guy into such a personal channel like yours, but instead Mini-Rahdo really pulled his weight! Great job and great idea!

Great to see Shea. I'm a fan his videos and tutorials. In here though, I think missed an opportunity to 'introduce the game' to us before he went on to how he plans to use the cards etc. Few questions could have been answered upfront: 1.What is this game about? 2. What are the key mechanisms? 3. What are we in this game (something Rahdo always makes it clear)? 4. How do we win this game? Just for improvement. I love Shea's involvement here though. Always thought he deserves to have more subscribers and views.

This is one of my favorite on-a-whim game buys ever. Very flavorful, very clean yet fun mechanics, and getting to tell your story at the end of every game is always fun. Perfect for couples too. We play with the houserule that if you fail an attempt you get a freebie to try for one more at the end of the game. Otherwise one player can completely miss 1/9 of their total board.

Great runthrough! I'll start playing more as I just pre-ordered the Stormlight Archive edition!! I love how I can come up with backgrounds for my D&D characters after playing this game.

When you get to Act II, don't you still have the Act I row available?
@rahdo4 жыл бұрын
Shea says "The rulebook is a little contradictory on this part, but they do say that when you finish an act “You may no longer gain traits or face challenges from that Act.” If you’re playing with multiple players and you’ve finished act 1 but they haven’t, then they can take cards from both 1 and 2, but you can only take from act 2 (this is confirmed in FAQ’s from the developer). Basically, your story can only move forward. Once you start taking act 2, you can’t go back in time and take act 1 cards."

Whoah. That 3 camera trick is SO COOL! Can I ask what you're using off to your right with the "green screen effect" to show cards closer? I would love to get something like that for our giant games on our 4.5x6.5 table. We project cards onto our TV screen on the wall so that everyone can read the cards no matter where they sit around the table. I've been looking for something just like what you're doing!

So I have never seen his channel or her him do a run through. Is that what he normally sounds like? Or was he trying to sound just like Rahdo? I guess impersonation is the highest form of flattery.

i had considered it originally, as i was intrigued by the storytelling stuff, but i ultimately passed because of the very lightweight, roll-to-resolve gameplay. but shea has almost convinced me i should seek it out anyway :)

@@rahdo Thanks for the elaboration - I felt his opening didn't allay my curiosity as to why you weren't doing this yourself. To memory, he left it at "this isn't the kind of game Rahdo likes" ... but having followed you for ages, stories and narratives have always resonated with you. This elaboration makes much more sense (and is similarly why I've always flirted, but ultimately walked away from this one too).
