Magic Dougie, great wee film to show off this fine route. Thanks again for another great day out. Though I must admit to a wee panic at Comrie when there was a real threat of No Coffee. Clearly no point in going out on the bike if there’s no coffee mid-ride. Will need to recce that for future routes.

Cheers Johnston. Yes, sorry about the coffee situation but I had no idea that the deli and park would be closed, compounded by the cafe coffee machine breaking down in front of our eyes. 😀 Will need to prepare/recce better in future. We do know that the pub do Illy coffee now though. Good to see you again big chap.

Thanks Janice. It’s really difficult to get non copyrighted music which I think is good to accompany the videos. Pleased that you enjoyed it. You should join us for a wee pedal. There are a few girls joining us now occasionally.

Glen Artney is pretty rugged and feels very remote. We’ve been through it in overcast weather and it’s very atmospheric and dramatic looking.

Looks a good route that one Dougie. Might need to give it a go soon 👍😎
@specializeddoug2 жыл бұрын
It is Greig. There’s some cyclepath, a couple of road sections, one of which is the South shore of Loch Earn, but there are more than enough gravel sections to keep it interesting. According to the lads we met in the video there is a gravel alternative to the road section between the Cultybraggan Barracks and the start of the gravel section to Arivurichardich but we chose not to search for it. We had a cracking day to be honest, although we were very lucky with the weather.

All I can say is wow! That route looks amazing! The views were phenomenal! Got to get me a gravel bike! 👍😃
@specializeddoug2 жыл бұрын
Gravel is the future Brian. Little to no traffic and much nicer terrain to cycle through. You also don’t tend to worry so much about average speed and the bikes are great for bikepacking. I love the gravel.

As usual another great film and a grand wee route and your weather looked great compared to further north.
@specializeddoug2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michele, we certainly were lucky compared to those doing the Loch Ness Etape. Reports from there were of it being very cold and a bit wet. Does this confirm the old adage of the sun shining on the righteous? 😀
@SwampyDuckRidesAgain2 жыл бұрын
@@specializeddoug quite possibly lol. This righteous lass decided to seek out the sun in Fort William instead (wasn’t cycling for four days in the rain though I made up for it yesterday lol) Did the NCR 78 in the road bike and should have had a MTB for the Loch Lochy section rough and trees down though the rest up to Fort Augustus was fine. Anyway the sun shone all week :)

@@SwampyDuckRidesAgain I saw some of that in your messages in Derek Walinck’s Strava feed. Sounds like we made some good decisions, Derek maybe not so much. 😀

Great route and excellent video. Glen Artney section looks fun!

It is CC. We’ve also taken the right at the bottom of the Glen and headed over a cracking gravel road. You then have to climb some deer gates and do about 200 metres of hike a bike before dropping into Comrie Croft. I’ll stick the link up for that video below here. You may know it. Ian Ezzy took us over there.
