Got last yrs std model and it has proved to be worth the price. Sliding wgt works when at draw setting, so help there also. Great products each yr. Your test was as usual one of the most looked forward to.

Went for my first ever open market driver fitting a few weeks ago. Tried all the main suspects. Went back and forth between a couple of finalists (Smoke + Titleist). Came away with this in 9deg. Felt good from the first swing.

My wife comes back from visiting her mother overseas. I have the Ai smoke 3 and 7 wood in the bag that was not there when she left. That comment early in the video of the wife asking how much it was, killed me. ‘’How much was it’’, ‘’they gave it to me’’

This club is ridiculous. Just did a fitting today with all the top drivers. This club was down the middle 9/10. The next closest was the qi10. At 6/10. QI10 was the second. Miss hits were still on fairway just a lot shorter. Only had one miss on the AI and was still on the fairway just 20 yards shorter.

Can’t blame you….IMO and in my very non capable hands, I thought the previous gen Paradym driver was 👎🏻👎🏻. Couldn’t hit it out of my shadow. Prob just a bad fit with the standard Hzrdus shaft. But since OG Epic, I’ve not gotten along with any Cally driver since. Don’t like the looks of this new one either but that’s cool as different strokes for different folks. But you hit everything like a boss and dammit…you should have triple the subs Al. Keep up the fantastic work!

Was going to get this until I hit the Ping G430 LST and ended up going with that one. Ai wasn’t bad but the Ping was just better when it came to my dispersion…and carry…and total distance…and spin…and launch angle. Ok it did everything better.

What shaft were you using in that? I am also guessing the delofting flattened the lie and caused the fade bias? I have the Paradym TD, but debating on trading in for Smoke TD, Max, or TD/Max(if I can find). Also debating trading my 3w for the mini driver... we will see. I mainly find myself using my 5w if needed and not my 3w anymore.

Ai Smoke just isn’t for me. I like the look of the crown, but the underside’s finish looks really cheap to me. Plus it’s got what I call a “font party” with like four different text styles on it. Looks like a kid had fun with Word Art in Microsoft word.

Good Morning Al, i was wondering if you had that shaft pured, or did you not have the two alignment marks lined up on the adaptor? All my callaway's the logo's were down on the shafts. The driver you are hitting looks like the xlink logo is facing the front of the club. Not sure if it really matters though with the opti-fit adaptor. but do love your videos.

i thought the smoke line looked cheap. did not like the look at all. just went in for a new 5 wood and ended up with a smoke. it looks a lot better in person. still not 100% sold on the looks but dang the 5 wood performs!

I am not a fan of the alternate year remakes that Callaway and Taylormade do, they do a major release every 2 years and to get people buy again, they essentially reskin the same club, its a Paradym with a new color essentially

@@alexetchesgolf im stating in general...i am informed by a fitter who i am close friends with that more than half the people sourcing new drivers in his fittings have tried QI, smokes and pxg and the blackops came out ontop. more forgiving and equal or longer distance with on average more consistency in dispersion once the shaft was sorted. But again, if you have your mind set on a smoke

You can state in general when we all hit it and play differently. It’s not even close to my top 10 this year and I’ve been doing this for 15 years also 👍 PXG also can reward fitters for selling product. Food for thought 😉 I’d be concerned if I heard someone sold brand for more than half of their drivers. Seriously concerned!

@@alexetchesgolf i didnt say sold...i said fit...fitting and selling are 2 different beasts...you would know, seeing your previous employer usually got the fitted coming in after going to someone like a custom fitter who were expensive then just brought the club with their spec...also the price of PXG stock is the same as some of the main brands with aftermarket shafts...once ppl seen that they generally avoid PXG

Always laugh at reviews where someone doesn't like the looks of the underside of the club. You have a head cover on the damn thing. And if you're hitting the ball with the underside of the club, then yes that driver isn't for you. Maybe neither is golf. 😁😁

I think the base of the driver looks very cheap and like an injection molded piece of garbage in person. I think if they finished it in a gloss it wouldn't look so... cheap
