Pre ordered the jailbird a few days back. At half the price of a custom L.A.B. putter, I think it's worth a try.

I need a wavy alignment line on my putter, to match my stroke. My guide dog reads putts for me and writes down the break in braille, because obviously, she can't talk.

Grabbing that new L.A.B Oz putter with insert that’s coming out in December. Lab must be doing something right with all these golf giants trying to respond
@Captainchaos14Ай бұрын
it’s not remotely close to “right”. it’s just the hot marketing. lab putters suck, and zero torque overall honestly is a very niche area way less people actually need

I have two labs (link and mezz max) that I was custom fit for. Love them. I got a square to square jailbird (at my same lie angle of 69 nice) and it is as good as my labs. The face insert feels great as well. At half the price, it's a no brainer.

Since I am a big fan of World War 2 airplanes, the first thing I thought when I saw the Jailbreak putter was Invasion Stripes. I recently bought a center-shafted Wilson Staff South Side Infinite putter, and I love it. I was using an almost-center-shafted putter, so I wanted to try the real deal. It really helps with my line, especially on the three to five footers that I have had trouble with.

I have a LAB DF3. Hard to beat that putter. Should be illegal to use.

Truly borderline cheating with the DF3. Thing just wants to go straight on its line.

I always find center shafted putters odd to stare down at. But, I have a straight back and straight thru technique. I think this is a flavor of the month fad - but I can be convinced to try it out. Anything to putt better!
@garyfransen768Ай бұрын
They look nice but the basic idea here is not new, I've been using a center shafted putter for 25 years.
@mattknight6830Ай бұрын
It's not just center shafting, the entire putter has no rotation if swung on a pendulum.

Just by its look I love how that jailbird or whatever it’s called looks behind the ball a lot. It’s very confidence inspiring. I use the same carbite putter since college I’m 49 now and this is the first putter I could see switching for. I’m excited to try it.

Your grip is most important when holding any golf club but particularly in putting. If you can grip the club in a way that eliminates unnecessary wrist hinge then that will enable you to control speed and line consistently!

Both of the Oddysey putters I currently use, a 2-ball and a number 7, have 38 inch shafts which I require to reach the ground. The longest Callaway is offering is 35.5 inches and they won’t make me a custom putter as long as I need at all this point in time. Hopefully by spring that will change.

I have tried two different LAB putters and they are brilliant, but purely a personal thing I have just tried (and bought) the new #7 fang style square to square. For me feels better, looks better and half the price. Not slagging off LAB they are superb but just didn’t quite work for me.

James I’ve watched enough of your videos to know you’re a good putter whatever is in your hands. What I think is that manufacturers all want a slice of the L.A.B. Market. I have many brands of putters because I’m not a good putter and willing to try anything. Scotty Cameron are my favourites by far, however, I’ve tried L.A.B. because of all the hype and whilst it doesn’t make me a great putter, I found the L.A.B. Link.1 gave me so much confidence I feel like a better putter. Let’s be honest Callaway et al have seen the success of L.A.B. and are getting involved to both widen its product range and expand its already huge market share.

@guyr7351Ай бұрын
I just feel some of the so called benefits and technology are a little bit like the emperor’s new clothes. When they start talking about shaft flex etc how fast are you swinging a putter. I just like a simple blade style, an aim mark and a milled face. Does that help Me read the line, the pace nope, and if you cannot do that you cannot putt well

Visited LAB HQ recently….played 18 holes with the new OZi and toured their facility…for anyone to compare both the technology or the build quality of these two brands is clearly uninformed….tried the jailbird as well….not suggesting one should purchase one brand over the other, however I am saying to suggest that these putters are even similar other than a center shaft, is FAKE news.
@subsailor1445Ай бұрын
I don't think that LAB is looking in the rear view mirror at all. Even if the putter is close enough to LAB standards, the price will be the best seller for Callaway/Odyssey.

Hands hold the grips of the putters. The hands, the eyes, the technique guides the path of the ball. Not zero head balance or face balanced. Go hit 10-20-100 practice balls with all your putters. Your technique, line, pace, read of turf makes the difference. Not the putter. Not a $1 putter or a $1000 putter will make a difference. I’ve done this with 7 putters that I have (though I have 3 or 4 that date back 30 or more years I didn’t use to test). But the style, my technique, my practice showed no significant difference in getting balls to within a 3’ diameter ring or hitting the pin. The practice certainly helped across the board in doing this exercise and testing. 3 of the 7 were face balanced. The cost of the clubs was $30 up to a used 2015 Scotty Cameron B back bought at a reasonable price.

The fact he is missing putts shows this is just marketing I use a tank putter which is not AI or zero torque and it’s all about practice and grip touch and reading a green and practice practice Practice I just wish all these so called testers would use a straight putt level putt and put the putter in a automatic stoke machine and see what happens. I can tell you the results will all be the same no matter what putter you use
