I think that some rings certainly have more value than others. Dirks ring in 2011 is a far more significant accomplishment than either of KD’s. However, at the end of the day, KD has 2 rings, and Dirk only has 1. They have no control over the teams they are matched up against and both of those players needed to contribute significantly in order to win their respective rings. When you look at rings, most of it is a team accomplishment, however there is a certain aspect of it that is a player accomplishment too. It is not fair to knock a team, like the lakers this year, for their “easy ring,” however it is fair to knock an individual player, like KD, for his rings, due to the manner through which he achieved them. This year, the Lakers have showed up to all of their series, and have played great against whatever opponent they are matched up against. They have no control over their matchups, so a ring this year is just as significant (as a team accomplishment) as any ring ever.

Glazierstar exaxtly. They can only play the team that is put in front of them every night. However, when looking at the greatness of a player, I can understand slightly discrediting Lebron here, because this ring doesn’t display his greatness as much as rings like 2016 do.

It has before. Remember 2016? Bogut was the starting centre, Lebron and Kyrie had a tough time driving to the hoop, Bogut goes out with a leg injury, and the lane opened up. Bogut never came back. Iggy strained his back, which is why he layed it up in the first place and didn't dunk it allowing "the block." to happen in the first place. Steph was banged up from his ankle injury sustained a few weeks earlier. Draymond got suspended a game, which is just as good as getting injured for a game so, year injuries have helped him before. The difference with this series though, is that injured or not the Lakers were winning lol. Now its going to be a sweep.

Not all rings are created equal, but they are. Rings are a team accomplishment, but individually they hold different values. Dirk and chaunceys rings hold more significance in my opinion than kd's as well as comparing lebrons 16 3-1 comeback ring over torontos championship last year. I believe it's more how it's built up to the championship. the story is everything. imagine if the nugs came back 3-1 on the lakers then beat the heat in any amount of games in the finals. that would hold a lot more significance than the average beat you in a six game series ring. people remember stories better than stats.

Kenny I think ur right that every ring counts a lot, but I think the reason people consider some rings greater than others is because either a team that isn’t one of the main favorites ends up winning the chip like Toronto last year (even though it’s debatable) or because a player that is well-liked like Dirk led his team to win the chip “the right way” (with many years in the same franchise and without a super team). I think it gives people hope that one team isn’t always going to dominate the league just because they are the favorites, which means their team has a chance to win it all without being the favorite.

Yup, only thing the Heat can do is minimize their losses and try to perform really well on the other end. When Lakers are hitting their shots, Lebron is going to be a complete zone breaker and AD who's somewhat of a zone breaker against Heat too in certain aspects can feast when they're too busy dealing with everything else going on. It's only a complete explosion on the Lakers' end that made the Heat look as bad as they did so it sucks that people are talking about the Heat being a bad team.

Goran Dragic has suffered a plantar tear of left foot and a quick google search shows that a full recovery from both complete and partial tears typically takes 12 weeks or more. However, activities may gradually resume after 6-8 weeks when the plantar fascia will be mostly recovered. Surgery is typically a last resort.

Lebron can’t control who he played just like other greats in the finals at the end of the day you go out there and play whoever you are matched up with.

I'm so happy someone brought this up. Injuries, no injuries whatever. There are no "what ifs" "but" in 30 years. Bill russell coulda played a team that had their whole starting five injured and we wouldnt know. Also, a team works their fuckin ass off to make it to a championship. At the end of the day, no team is gonna roll over at that level. Its ridiculous to think that way. Theres no such thing as an easy win. A team doesnt choose who their playing against and they shouldnt be forced to show mercy or some shit. life is life. A championship is a championship. Period.

I agree with what your saying with the accountability of ring. I guess it's on a certain scale of which were harder, but ur right at the end of the day all teams probably ran into some luck to get theirs

What I have found common in the winning of rings is that there is often always a big three in the championship. Big THR33 in miami with bron wade and bosh, you had GSW big three with steph Klay dray and then KD. But this year lakers have Bron AD rondo hest have Goran bam butler. It takes a good big three to get to the championship, so when players are down and it's less competition people say the ring wasnt as significant. But it's what it takes to get that ring in the regular season being a good seed or just going throguh the playoffs easily which miami and LA both did, every ring matters.

Everyone on the Lakers started clicking. KCP and Danny started hitting 3s, Howard was dishing easy assists to AD. Sheesh

Every ring matters and this one will be unique from the rest as it was in the bubble where there was no home court advantage. I like to think that at the end of each series the better team won in the bubble as they were able to ride/create momentum and execute. Debatably the bubble is more challenging than a regular playoff series as it is mentally taxing and a completely new environment. Some of these players haven't played in a fan-less arena (with the exception of families) since they were in middle school. I hope Dragic returns
