Well executed, This thick and thin casual letter has nice feel to it. I like how John starts his C,G,O He gets nice round counters, not pointy ones. Interesting how he slides the brush sideways and back for the horizontal stroke of the E and F.

Support for the painting hand when you can't rest your hand on the surface.

It's a mahl stick, typically a wooden dowel with a rubber or leather tip. They are used to rest your brush hand on when painting.... However a drumstick would work in a pinch 😁

Yes thanks. I have a problem...Im ex forces amputee...cant use the drumstick! ooops. :) Glad I got the answer though. Ill keep at it even though I suck and will expect to work hard for about 3 years to become...reasonable. Great help for my PTSD though, I get into a healthy zone.
