This trailer shocked me how many stand out mechanics that Dead Space had that haven't really been picked up by other games. The real life HUDs, the camera placement, the stomp mechanic, dismemberment etc. Stomping on stuff in Dead Space is one of the most satisfying things in any game I've ever played. Replaying through Dead Space 2 currently. That game came out in January 2011 and holds up amazingly well. The only thing that feels dated is the ragdoll physics. Can't wait to see what they do with newer tech.

The fact that we went through the PS4/Xbox One era without a Dead Space game is criminal, I liked all three games, sure Dead Space 3 is probably the weakest, but I still found it enjoyable. This new game does look really cool, and I love the monster designs, and I can already see a compilation of all the death scenes. When you mentioned Lee getting there and things looking normal upon arrival, it made me think how I'd kinda like there to be a good hour of normal prison stuff. A real slow burn start everyone alive and well. Riddick Butcher's Bay style, cell, cantine, getting to know a few people. Seeing many other inmates, a new prisoner's doctor checkup where you'd see a doc, nurse, some patients. Then you're thrown into solitary confinement due to trying something.. or just in your cell, locked in and meanwhile shit goes down. Sure it might bore some initially, but to me it would be disturbing on a more personal level if you could recognize certain prisoners or guards from some details that are still left. People that have now been transformed, mangled.. Become something else. Seeing the people as well as the areas in different "light" etc. Still, no matter how it starts, I'm excited for the ride. I'm thinking I might go dark and try and refrain from watching anything more to have it surprise me with more things while playing.

8:39 Wow I can imagine play though those scenes now with the quality of graphics in current day games,it would look freaky as hell. I prefer hack and slash with blood spatters instead since I don't like dismemberment in my games but I enjoy the enthusiasm you had in this video,welcome back,man.
