I always imagined that Saiyans have such strong genes that whenever they mate, their child comes out as mostly a saiyan, as opposed to the other involved species. Kind of like the viltrumites from the Invincible comics.

it's just a thought: I believe that being similar a Saiyan-Human hybrid shows characteristics of both species in the same way: at 50% (it has never been specified if Saiyan genes are dominant and how much they are compared to human ones), a different thing (again by hypothesis) could be a hybrid between a Saiyan and another race for example Broly and Cheelai: a child of theirs would make me think that the Saiyan genes could be much more dominant than those of the Cheelai race (at 80% at least), so it would be almost a pureblood Saiyan (these are only my guesses, since it is not known what percentage of Saiyan genes are dominant or recessive with other humanoid races). The Viltrumites on the other hand it is canonical that hybrids with other species are always pureblood Viltrumites, because their genes are always dominant (Mark, son of a Viltrumite and a human is a pure Viltrumite, Oliver son of a Viltrumite and an insectoid alien is a pure viltrumite, such as Ursaal and Onaan)
