Can you explain cuture and subsequent conversion?
@CallMeEzekiel4 жыл бұрын
@@alexanderlipowsky6055 Sure! The culture of a PoP is very important. Each country has accepted cultures, and PoPs who are part of an accepted culture are much more useful than those of non-accepted cultures. Most notably: PoPs of accepted cultures contribute to how many national focuses you have, and are far less likely to cause rebellions. PoPs in your country will assimilate to your primary culture over time. The speed of assimilation is based on a bunch of factors. Most notable are decisions and your ruling party's citizenship policy, with broader citizenship policies increasing the rate of assimilation. You can read more about it here: vic2.paradoxwikis.com/Assimilation I hope this helps!
@alexanderlipowsky60554 жыл бұрын
@@CallMeEzekiel so, run your country well and hope for the best if you are not the us, us get more ppl of primary culture everywhere and wait, whulest getting more immigration? Running a Prussia to megagermany, but cant wrap my head around how i can assimilate the slavs and hungarians to germanic culture. Now it seems, i should get every luxury good i can, buy and sell to pops and get literacy to 70%+ to have any chance of achieving that
@anqiren53454 жыл бұрын
I feel like you left out two nations of far greater importance in the game than, say, France. However, for a human player, normally only one is relatively 'playable'. Allow me to illustrate: First, the 'unplayable' one, namely India. The real importance of India in this game is simple - keep the United Kingdom at that sweet spot of Great Power #1. Through her colonies in India (or the entire India to be precise), Britain secures the vast majority of the raw materials her industry requires. In early game, India is the only source of natural dyes, and later on, tea plantations in India helps the UK break the monopoly on the beverage previously held by China. In addition, India provides the UK with dozens of brigades and naval bases, which her other colonies just lack. If the human player wishes to become #1 through military means, weakening their position in India is the best strategy. It's a shame that India is next to impossible to form without incredible skill and luck, and foreign intervention of course, the UK in the game is really good at putting out rebellions in India. Then, onto the 'playable' one, and that would be China. The importance of China lies in her potential, which, when fully unleashed, can not only rival any other nation, but can also break game mechanics. In a population-oriented game, the nation with more than twice the population than the next biggest two nations combined automatically wins. The developers had to lock China behind heavy restrictions, fracture the nation up, separate the largest culture(han) into north and south han, which, as a Chinese myself and any other Chinese just find ridiculous, and gave the pops much lower literacy than Japan, with a government with less than 3% of the pop as accepted. These usually manage to keep an AI-controlled China behind bars for the entire game, but not nearly enough to stop a decent player. Once she gets through all the disasters and humiliations the world or herself brought on her, China shakes off her shackles and will become #1 Great Power even without wars(hinting at you, Germany), in 30 years at most. You might not have time to read through all that I have written above, or might disagree with me on some matters, but I just wanted to share with you the fact that someone out there loves this game as much as you do. I have learned so much about history in this game and through further reading that I can even embarass some high school history teachers. And I do feel like that players of this game, especially those who learned the basic mechanics and wish to try their hand at guiding their nation towards beating UK at the game named after their queen, they have to learn about China and India, and their signifcance in this process. However, these nations are almost never mentioned by the majority of players. I would absolutely feel honored if you could make a video on these nations. Anyway, I have rambled on for long enough. Thank you for reading.:)

The game really doesn't set you up to give you time to figure things out. Just having the small thing of starting out with a balanced budget would help so many new players find their feet. How are new players supposed to know the proper balance of military/education/administration spending to have when they first start out? If they don't change anything, then they are bankrupt within weeks, like no one was running the place before 1836.

If you could combine the mechanics of Hearts of Iron and Victoria you would have just about a perfect game.
@naturalbornpatriot63694 ай бұрын
I agree. Better yet, combine those two and a little TW, Empire 2

Nah, you still need Crusader Kings Characters, people often forget but it’s still people running the country. Maybe having some characters in your country that you can appoint to government positions and swap around and who lead rebellions and give a face to political movements. Also make sure to have a historical mode.

I bought this game like a year ago and never decided to play more than a couple hours because I thought I had bought something that just was too smart for me. Now that I decided to get back to it, this video saved me from failing miserably!

Coming from HoI4, I started as the UK and started justifying on a bunch of nations. Didn't know anything about peace deals, only got Friesland - then France, Prussia and Russia attacked me to contain my aggression. Then they left me to think about the bad things I'd done.

Totally agree... This was my first ever grand strategy game from Paradox and totally missed a tutorial like this. I have owned the game for 7 years by now, didn't even had the two follow-up expansions, and the learning curve is really steep. But once you merely grasp the basics, you will never get tired of playing it, even after many years, whenever I am tired of EU4 or simulation games, I know I will always have vicky2 in my heart. I'll give you some extra playing insight: - I've played countless nations, but somehow I always get back to playing Germany, trying to form it in record time (doesn't even have to be Grossdeutschland, Kleindeutschland will be very, VERY powerful!) - Also try to form Poland-Lithuania. It gives you an extra feeling of accomplishment :) - I think I've only played USA for 2 times, ever. They're too easy - Regarding tech, I always have this priority: Medicine, Education efficiency (improves literacy, which will ultimately improve your research for all tech), National focuses (to get focuses on Clergymen, to increase literacy), and tech according to my nation's necessities (either commerce, industry, navy or military, rarely prestige) - Also, I always prioritize pop growth. More pops ==== More military, industry and colonization pops. There is a point around 1848 where there will be revolutions around Europe, increasing your militancy. I try to take advantage of it (militancy) to not improve political reforms, but wait and improve social reforms on national healthcare and school reform instead.

I this video is a great help I been wanting to play this game after I watch and learn that Youjo senki was inspired by a Victoria 2 campaign by the author.

"Militancy, the bane of new players" I'm getting flashbacks of the Japanese reactionary rebellion when I tried to westernize things. I won by a hair's breadth, barely managing to defeat their 70k doomstack right north of Edo with artilleries fresh out of training. It was a Minas Tirith moment.

My God good sir, that video was superb! The poké Prussia was outstanding thinking. Well done. I'm untested in passing and this guide seemed like a good summary. I play a lot of eu4 and it seems somewhat familiar but still complicated like all paradox games. So I'll just have to jump in and try it.

What made me stop playing was the British and Prussians beating me up for no reason. Just let me be french smh
