Yeah, I think a lot of people end up in sucky relationships for that reason. Not even ones where either person is necassarily bad. With no common interests it would be hard for anyone. With life being as short as it is it's hard enough to find the time to do the things we love. It would be even harder to spend half your free time doing what you love and half the time doing things you don't to make sure you both get to do things you enjoy. It might not ever be perfect but definitely a few shared interests.

Yeah I think he needed to be less focused on himself and his current favorite character and more interested in the girls and what they liked. It's not just the girls that can 'learn new tricks' as he put it. He should try to be more open minded. Some of my favorite pieces of media I didn't know anything about until someone introduced me to them. Plus it's a lot of fun introducing someone to something and like watching episodes together and talking to them about it.

What a guy Joey is, I think he learned his lesson about taking her home to his parents on a first date... Coffee is definitely a better option.
