I work for TMC. This is definitely entertaining to watch someone who isn’t TMC and to see them struggle as much as I do. 😂 we’re really all in this thing together, even when it feels like we’re all alone.

An older friend who drove he gave me a great idea and I still use it take a pice of 4 inch thin wall pvc pipe cut it a inch longer than the Bungie then hook them to the pipe. Then you have a great way to store you're Bungie s plus the pipe you can pick up and carry easy with the bungies right there . Just a neat little idea that was passed to me ,works great happy hauling good videos.

Uk trucker here .I would Have put the tarp on first then the straps. The ends of the tarp should be like an envelope ends tie across then the end comes over like an envelope. When I started in the 1970s we used ropes with the dollie knot .Happy days Love your channel.

You’re right , old UK system much better , neater and also a lot tighter , I agree I would have done the ends with the flap on the outside , I’m 75 and still rope and sheeting a lorry and drag in the Scottish highlands, at least with a flat when you’re empty you don’t worry about the 70 mph gales 🤙

Bringing back memories of my few years with J&F trucking back in the mid 1990's! Majority of their loads were tarped, lots of steel and lumber. We carried two sets of tarps on each trailer (48's), one set for steel which were 16' wide and the other set for lumber which were 24' wide. The worst untarping jobs were lumber deliveries on a wet day/muddy lot, had to roll them up on board the load to keep inside surface clean for the next load.

You probably know this already but you can get rubber rope and run it through the d rings on your tarps. Only need like 1/4 the bungees. This brought back bad memories of tarping b-train lumber loads for me. I had to untarp and deliver in -30 one time. Those tarps were like trying to fold plywood haha 😂

In the UK we do something called 'Roping & Sheeting' instead. Starts in a similar way, including folding the front tarp/sheet over the rear one; but then we use ropes with special drag knots to secure the sheets; rather than bungee straps; which to me seem a little less secure with the natural stretchiness in them?. Not at a fun job in the wet though.

I fixed about 80% of the issue by removing the fuel pressure gauge. Turns out it was leaking fuel and letting air in. But it still acts up on hard pulls so still some more digging to do!!

A local account opened up at my company. It is flatbed, 20% tarp loads, M-F 5am to 6am start, 50 hrs/week, $85k a year plus benefits. I’m not sure if it is worth it. This has to be so much harder in the wind, snow, rain. I have never done flatbed though and want to. I feel like the pay should be higher. Is this a rip off?
