1million percent took Smith as a harder fight than Yarde. I was at the yarde fight with the best seats in the building and even though Yarde won rnds, he spewed it a bit. Smith didn't and I felt more confident Smith could catch Beterb proper. Anyhow, said for 2 years Beterb Bivol best fight in boxing & Smith Yarde 2nd best fight in lh division.

Well losing to Beterbiev is no shame as seeing as he is beating everyone and could be P4P No.1 and one of the all time best fighters... especially as was inactive before the fight. As for the Canelo loss, was weight drained and fight taken at short notice, again with Canelo making sure all the conditions are in his favour. Callum might be able to go up to Cruiserweight, as he is still big and possibly weight drained even at Light Heavy.

his only two losses were against two known steroid abusers. smith deserves respect for that. it simply is not fair for boxing to allow steroid abusers to continue fighting. clenelo alvaroids and beterbiev have both been caught.....people keep looking the other way though....gerry cooney said that if they allow steroid abusers to box that someone will get killed in the ring because of that. its not good for the sport and not fair to the non-steroid users. if you see anyone "destroying" everyone with ko's i would bet money they are on steroids. canelo, benavidez, berlanga, beterbiev, just to name a few....

He was, as in the Canelo fight, too timid. Maybe he felt Beterbiev's power early and didn't like it. Calum Johnson showed the blueprint to stop Beterbiev You have to take the fight to him (if you can) and Calum Johnson very nearly stopped him. While it lasted it was anyone's fight though to be fair Calum Johnson is right for the weight and clearly has heavier hands than Calum Smith. When Smith lost to Canelo complaining about the weight the writing was on the wall. You don't go into a fight with the likes of Canelo and not be prepared or you shouldn't have taken the fight in the first place. Calum Smith is a great fighter but he has come up short against two rare fighters. That is not going to change. He should retire with his credibility intact. If Beterbiev beats Bivol then may be Smith asks for a re-match but he is going to have to change his tactics or the outcome will be the same.

Smith was still fighting back against Beterbiev, he did what he could at the time...he was throwing body shots, right crosses and left hooks etc...was making a go of it, should have jabbed more and used more spoiling tactics etc to slow Beterbiev down, but easier said than done, But Beterbiev attacked, defended and pressured very well... It was the Canelo fight where it seemed like a weak performance where he was capable of much more, he never really let his hands go in that fight but he was weight drained and took fight at short notice.

Why all of a sudden is everyone on the beterbiev train. Few years ago most fans didn’t know who he was. Callum was out the ring for a long time and to come back to fight somebody like beterbiev is a massive ask. I think if they fought again i wouldn’t say the outcome would be different but i think Callum would hurt him. Callum has done fantastic in his career , he appears to be a really nice fella and a credit to the sport of boxing.
