As I got older actually I realised the how it taught but healthy and toxic relationships, for ex: Garnet she’s balanced almost 100% of the time because Ruby and sapphire get along so well together and listen to each other and she’s her own person, but with Malacite: Jasper ans Lapis hated each other from the beginning and like taking everything out on each other which is an example of a toxic relationship

Whenever I think about this show, I always think about my little brother. They showed me the movie and I really loved it, and so we watched it together. All 6 seasons, and re-watched the movie together. I love him so much, and I miss him every day while I'm here at college. I'm currently re-watching the show, and I keep crying at just the most basic things, and I think it might be because this is the first time I'm watching the show without them. I'm seeing them in a few weeks for spring break, and I hope that we can continue watching together

Never really liked Steven Universe, my ex liked the show, and whenever I hear the songs I think of how we used to stay up late and watch episodes, how she got me into it. Sometimes when I hear or replay the theme song in my head it feels like taking a breath, it feels like it's just me and the world. Steven Universe changed my life. It was what kicked off more self acceptance for me and made me more open to being vulnerable and honest about my feelings . It modeled healthy (and unhealthy) relationships and started helping those gears in my head turn at such a pivotal time in my life as I entered young adulthood. I'm coming up on a year in therapy for unresolved traumas and dysfunction and I am miles away from the person I was before in a lot of ways. I owe a big part of this to shows like SU and She-ra. It's very validating to see that yes, it's okay for me to exist as I am and yes, feelings are okay.

So, I didn't really see Steven Universe when it came out (which will forever be one of my biggest regrets), but when I finally watched it in 2021, I immediately understood why it was so widely beloved. It became an escape for me, whenever I wasn't doing great or even when I just wanted to watch something, I turned to Steven Universe. I think the finales last couple words hit the hardest, with the lyric - "Happy ever after never came". well I see everyone talking about their experience with the U.S. so I decided to tell mine too, (sorry about my English, I don't have English as a native language but I use it the way I know it, sorry), well I'm a straight man, 18 years old, currently, I watched U.S. when I was younger and still suffered a certain amount of prejudice from everyone I knew for watching U.S., but I listen to the music to remind me of that time, even though I was younger. I had a lot more problems, I still watched U.S. to breathe some of the craziness of the days, it was a time where I had worked hard to get my room set up the way I wanted and after a fight with my older brother where I even heard a confrontation physically, him having broken everything here that I fought so hard to build and seeing everything torn apart really gave me irrational despair, but I still managed to finish seeing everything about the U.S. and that's why I'm still grateful that the U.S. exists and for It gave me a breather during these complicated periods in my life, thank you very much

Well,yes. I believe that was the intention but hidden because..you know. Its a kids show. But the emotion that lovers have on their first time is love,passion,acceptance and ackwardness. That is exactly how Sapphire and Ruby felt the first time they fused! I find this beautiful. This show taught me alot. This show also helped realized not only male and females only fall in love each other, this show basically made me an ally. Hearing all these songs from when I was young is such a nostalgic train ride, so many memories; the hype of the new movie and season, the hype of the crystal gems going the home world, the new fusions. i was fully introduced to SU through 'here comes a thought' popping up in a youtube mix when the episode first released. i loved the ambiance of the song and it helped me calm down in the middle of many panic attacks. now i stumbled upon this mix and the song's in it, a perfect timing situation. i've just had a breakdown after remembering how much i was mistreated by my state's cps as a child following an abuse situation. that tore me up just as much as the actual abuse did. SU gave me self respect back. it gave me peace. and now it grounds me tonight as i move to accept that what happened happened and that my emotions are valid. mindfulness is a powerful thing.

@@humanbean4037 Personally, I think there was some lead-up, even though it often took me a couple of re-watches and some small comments about the reactions for me to get and understand as "lead-up". And, I'm not gonna open this can of worms, but just point it out: emotional problems w/ everything IRL and in media can take time to react to. Sometimes it's instantaneous and sticks w/ you, sometimes it sticks but you have a delayed emotional reaction to it, but it's pretty superhuman if not rare for someone to have absolutely NO reaction and NO problems w/ everything.

Steven universe helped me face chilhood scars that i never was able to close. I always acted on my own, never seeked help from my fathers and did everything myself because they were so protective and careful that i was scared, also i have an older sister that was always so independent and i looked up to be like her. I never asked for help and keep everything for myself.. while watching SU i cried so often because of how everyone helps Steven and are always around him.. I just wanted to smile like him, crying while hugging my mom, afortunately im able to, and i did when i learned that keeping all for myself wasnt healthy, and everyone need helps, specially while being a teenager who is struggling with studies, love, selfsteem, body shame, toxic friendships, hormonal changes, etc etc.

I'm not sure if anyone else relates, but I remember back in 2014 I began learning how to sing because of Steve Universe, and I still remember struggling to sing the majority of the songs in the show. Now 8 year's later and I'm able to sing all of the songs I had a difficult time with and it feels kind of rewarding in a way, like it's a good reminder of how much I've improved over the years. Also everytime I would sing these beautiful songs I would always remember the scenes and the context behind them giving me a huge hit of nostalgia. Anyways I love this show and it's songs🙂👍

Thank you so much for the compilation. It's very well-edited and I really like the background. The background art on this show was always so gorgeous. The more time passes and the more I listen to Rebecca Sugar's songs (on SU and on Adventure Time), the more I'm convinced that she is one of the foremost creative geniuses of our time. I seriously have no idea how she did it. She can write, she can draw, she can sing, and she can songwrite. She can run one of the most ambitious animated shows of the 21st Century while still finding time to write songs as good as all of these are. She even wrote all of the songs for the SU Movie in just six weeks. And on top of all that, the songs aren't just catchy and memorable, but meaningful in so many ways. She's able to tap directly into the emotions of the audience with what are deceptively simple lyrics. That takes a special kind of talent and emotional intelligence. I don't know if "genius" is even enough to describe her. And she's still only 35 years old? I can't wait to see what she ends up doing in the future. Oh, and of course appreciation must be paid to aivi & surasshu for their brilliant arrangements as well. SU's songs would not be what they are without them.
