11:10 this is just f*ing creepy man. I was falling asleep and suddenly this thing hit.
@Brandon-tz6vf2 жыл бұрын
I’m about to open up a little bit. 24:27 literally makes me almost want to cry. When I hear this song I get 2 massive emotional waves. On one side, I get glimpses of my childhood. SPM was one of my favorite games as a child. Something that made me feel so attached was because my dad was hooked on it and played through while me and my brother watched. As someone who grew up loving Nintendo games and video games in general, it felt extremely special that my father, someone who needs to set an example for his sons, felt joy and satisfaction in experiencing such a wonderful piece of art with his kids. This song is always the song I think of when I think about SPM. On the other hand, this song makes me think of the tragic story of 2 pieces of a loving couple getting split apart by an evil force. The game uses this song as a flashback of when tippi and bleck were normal people that were deeply in love. It’s almost as if the game is saying “this is what used to be, but those days are over”. This aspect is insanely sad to me, and I remember crying my first time fully understanding the story. The visual of timpani and blumiere sitting on a hill under a tree, all alone together is what I see in my brain hearing this, and it makes me feel the desire to someday find someone that I fall in love with as if I were in a fantasy. I wanna live that image of sitting under a tree, all alone, and in love. I know everything I just said might sound ridiculous, but I don’t care. I love Nintendo music so much, but to hear this exact tune in the middle of a compilation when I least expected it? I don’t know if I’ll ever feel as strong about a piece of music in my life.

SPM was one of my favorites, as well. It always transcended the typical "Mario saves Peach" that Nintendo games go for.

Brandon, thank you for being brave to open up and share your memories. Your time with your father and brother playing sounds lovely, and I agree too with Tippi and Bleck's romance also being something we should all experience. 🤗❤️ You're awesome, and hopefully you have a great day 😊

Paper Mario's Shooting Star Summit will always be one of my all time favorite Nintendo tracks of all time. An immense feeling is evoked from me each and every time I listen to it. I have a huge N64 bias and games from around that era, and I do appreciate newer games and soundtracks, but there's something to be said about growing up in a specific era.

ndirect suicide is the act of setting out on an obviously fatal course without directly carrying out the act upon oneself. Indirect suicide is differentiated from legally defined suicide by the fact that the actor does not pull the figurative (or literal) trigger. Examples of indirect suicide include a soldier enlisting in the army with the intention and expectation of being killed in combat, or provoking an armed law enforcement officer into using lethal force against them. The latter is generally called "suicide by cop". Evidence exists for suicide by capital crime in colonial Australia. Convicts seeking to escape their brutal treatment would murder another individual. This was felt necessary due to a religious taboo against direct suicide. A person completing suicide was believed to be destined for hell, whereas a person committing murder could be absolved of their sins before execution. In its most extreme form, groups of prisoners on the extremely brutal penal colony of Norfolk Island would form suicide lotteries. Prisoners would draw straws with one prisoner murdering another. The remaining participants would witness the crime, and would be sent away to Sydney, as capital trials could not be held on Norfolk Island, thus earning a break from the Island. There is uncertainty as to the extent of suicide lotteries. While surviving contemporary accounts claim that the practice was common, such claims are probably exaggerated.[161]
