A few notes that I've collected to help tame the beast! The precedence (order-of-events) of setting the Manticore parameters is (sequential) and import for your metal detector to operate at it's peak performance. Mode Recovery Speed. Sensitivity. Ground balance . Long press noise cancel. Sensitivity (try to increase Sensitivity again). Long press noise cancel. The Manticore LONG PRESS Noise Cancel feature: Best practice for EMI Noise Cancel is to hold the coil about 16" above the ground and (parallel to the ground) and COMPLETELY STILL, then perform a LONG PRESS. Out of (19 available Noise Cancel channels) it will eventually bounce between the 3 best Noise Cancel channels and settle on the best channel. If there are competing EMI signals it won't be able to settle on just one channel. In that scenario you'll just have to pick one of them. The more time that you allow the Noise Cancel to analyze the surrounding EMI, the better the EMI mitigation will be. This may allow for detection of deeper targets and a quieter running detector. *Note: Long press noise cancel whenever you make changes to the Mode, Recovery Speed or Sensitivity. Manticore Best Practice Ground Balancing: Dry Sand: Manually set Ground Balance to Zero (0). Air Testing: Manually set Ground Balance to Zero (0). Wet Sand: Manually Ground Balance Pumping the coil between from 5 inches to 12 inches. Low to Mildly Mineralized Soil: Manually Ground Balance Pumping the coil between from 5 inches to 12 inches. Highly Mineralized Soil: Manually Ground Balance by Sweeping the coil at the height that you will be detecting at. *Note: Under ideal ground conditions, Ground balance is ideally set to Zero. New sub, and thanks for the video!

Thank you so much for your comprehensive and much appreciated comment / observations. I will certainly digest this and take it on to the field with me next time I’m out. The artefact at the end isn't a book clasp. 🤔. It is more than likely a clasp from a Victorian cloth material bracelet or necklace and the other end clasp slots into the rectangular opening .🙂. This type of clasp is still used on modern gold and silver braclets. 😀.

Manticore can't find coins, fact 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thats quite staggering you found all those bits and pieces but only the 1 coin. Some really weird items there that I couldn't even begin to ID. I do really enjoy the screen on that machine, but I won't be parting with £1,800 for one anytime soon, as I don't have £1,800 🤣 Great video and easy watching on my Sunday evening

I wonder how high you can run sensitivity with proper noise cancel
@Notchedto11 Жыл бұрын
We will definitely find out.....I poersonally think it needs a little update (or it might just be my land) but any higher than 22/23 for me and it goes nuts. I'm still learning it though so watch this space! Thanks so much for watching my friend
@zulizwan1739 Жыл бұрын
@@Notchedto11 For me I can run the manticore above 25 to 30 . Of coz its locations dependent. The EMI immunity features on the manticore is superb and I think its one of the most important things to do properly to bring out the "beast". I don't know if you knew this but from what I see in the video you did the noise cancel with the coil on the ground. I think this will make the machine confused because it will assume the ground noise as EMI and trying to knock it out, hence the noise cancel wont work properly. For me when I do noise cancel I always lift the coil on par with my hip, hold the noise cancel much much longer until the number settle to at least 1 channel. If there is no EMI I will increase the sensitivity a bit more until its introduce little bit of EMI then long press noise cancel again and see if it works. If its doesn't work, I'll decrease the sensitivity back again and start hunting. I can run with the sensitivity of 23 on the equinox, on the Manticore with the long press noise cancel I can run it with the sensitivity of 27 before the machine go nuts due to EMI on one of my site

Not a book clasp but the fastener for a 4 string pearl necklace…. I know of at least 5 people who have decided NOT to purchase a manticore. 😆. Watching videos of people using them I keep hearing it still finds iron like the Equinox and like you mention it seems a bit erratic and chirpy and most of all for me the things it finds would be found by most other top of the range machines including my old Minelab from the dark ages. 🙂. I know the iron problem can be tuned out on the Equinox if you know what you are doing. 😏. I honestly think the manticore is going to flop unfortunately. 🤪. Long live the Minelab Explorer II which finds zero pieces of iron on every trip used and would of found every item you found there. 🤗. If I purchase a new machine I will go for an Equinox because I know a person who has tamed it and has it finding very little iron. 😄. HH.
@Notchedto11 Жыл бұрын
Thanks again for commenting & for your thoughts. Very early days for the Manticore, and I’m sure they will keep tweaking it. In my view most mid / high end machines will find the vast majority of things no different to another, likewise there are plenty of lower end detectors that will find stuff if it isn’t deep & you walk over it. The search for the detector to end all detectors continues sadly! 😊 all the best my friend
