Just a heads up for those coming from Elemental Datacenter (Tonberry/Kujata etc.), our DC's 'papan' is the old version where D3 (p ranged) and D4 (caster) is always fixed North and West respectively, with the DPS beacon swapping with D4. For T/H, H1 is fixed East and H2 is fixed South, with the T/H beacon swapping with H1. The main difference is that D3 is always north unless D3 gets the beacon (in which they swap with D4), while H2 is always South unless they get beacon (in which they swap with H1). This difference matters when a melee (D1/D2/MT/ST) gets the beacon. Let's say on the DPS side, D1 gets the beacon, D1 swaps with D4 at West BUT D3 remains North, so the DPS configuration becomes D3 North, D1 West, D2 and D4 in the middle. In the video's updated version, it would be D2 North, D1 West, D3 and D4 in the middle. Everything else is resolved the same way except the priority for players in the middle is W (ccw) ← H1 MT ST D2 D1 D4 → N (cw). I would recommend Elemental players refer to the text guide by Tuufless instead: tuufless.github.io/FFXIV-Elemental-Raid-Macros/6.0_endwalker/savage_raids/p12s_2/#papans-original-caloric-theory-1 as at the moment there is no video for the 'old' papan.

as someone in papan and who actually came up with the strat, i don't know why people adapted the beacon role staying out rule, just makes for more thinking where there shouldn't be honestly. the strat you described is what we used since week 1 and up to us finishing the raid tier, (save for the E/W roles swapped, we had healer on W and dps on E). based papan caloric enjoyer though! you're a poggers individual! and everyone in elemental that didn't adopt roles! you too!

this is a late comment on this and most probably have already known this but just in case. if you receive the wind debuff from the center, you only have to look at north and south since e/w will always be wind. so whoever is fire in either one is automatically yours.

Hectors is decent, but I highly recommend you not use his placement for pangenesis for the slimes. It causes the party to really squeeze into a small safe space vs. the actual pastebin reference photo.

The second move is TIGHT. If you have to rotate from n/s to e/w, just know that getting barely into the marker is enough. Don't stress standing directly on your partner.

the last center wind is not clear, in the video you are g1, why you go to A?

process of elimination based on group + role priorities step by step logic specific to G1 tank group 1 rotation from center = counter clockwise from D (aka D > C > B > A) - first set of fires will always join beacons at D/B (because beacons become wind by default) so you'll never go to D/B from center with wind - scratch out D and B as options out the gate - g1 tank with wind's next option is C but in this example there's already a wind there after debuffs go out (healer matching their beacon role partner, the other healer at D) - scratch out C - D is taken / B is taken / C is taken - last place open is for G1 tank with wind becomes A these are situations are pretty fixed per group & role + debuff combo and become more apparent/automatic as you do it and you won't think about it in these long steps following the priority works itself out hope that makes sense
