Lifetime ban, and criminal charges. That was a deliberate act of violence, completely outside the game. That it occurred during a game of rugby should be irrelevant. A crime was caught on camera in front of thousands of witnesses, the Crown Prosecution Service should have jumped on it.

@@nstratford9073 tbf we've all done something in the heat of the moment on the pitch, whether it throw a punch, intentionally use a shoulder etc. But this wasnt heat of moment or not thinking, there is a video from the otherside and he has 3 or 4 goes at his arm and repositins his grip. Even a teammate tries to get him off. Had he done the exact same thing in one movement it could be argued he was trying to cause pain but not to.the extent he did..but he was trying to bresk.his arm...really bad to see.

Should never have been given a match shirt. But to do those things wearing an England shirt is disgraceful and disrespectful to his country. The thug should be jailed, but i suspect that it is only a question of when he does that off the pitch. Every example shown here he was a coward - not once did he face up to his opponent.

'The violence of he who consents'. It basically a legal principle that allows violence (boxing, rugby etc) to take place when all involved parties consent. I agree that really it is GBH pure and simple, but legally proving that in this context is a quagmire.

There's losing your head and doing dangerous stuff, but most of these incidents look like he took a second or two to work out his best attack. That's psychotic behaviour. Having dislocated an elbow many years ago, that guy will never fully recover, he'll have tendon damage, and restriction of movement at best. I'm for the lifetime ban here, he cannot be trusted to not endanger his opponents health.
