This Psalm is a comfort for good people who have been unjustfiably persecuted, especially if they have turned to the proper authorities and been betrayed. It is through identifying with the travails of King David, one can express sorrow and indignation in a religious framework.

Thank you Brother Paul for giving that example of a young mother with a child who has cancer. How the mother hates the cancer that is slowly killing the child but loves the child. In a similar manner God loves us but hates the sin in us. Thank you Jesus for taking our sins from us and washing us clean with his redeeming blood. Now because of Jesus we can now stand boldly on the day of judgement.

Everytime I click on one of your videos I am enlightened. The Lord has truly blessed you as a teacher of the Word. I read Psalm 58 this evening as I've been reading through the entire book for a month or so now and the poetry and feeling of David's words are so enthralling and I can identify with so much in this particular season of my life. Verse 10 in the NIV states "The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they bathe thier feet in the blood of the wicked". Striking and vivid writing. Makes me glad to be walking a righteous path. God is Just. His mercy and patience and free will over thousands of years and the opportunity to choose Him will end and those who oppose and reject Him will not stand a chance. What a Mighty and Just God we serve. Thank you Jesus for taking upon yourself the wrath of God that we deserved but you willingly bore! You deserve worship, good King.

Psalms 58 (JPS Hebrew/English Tanakh) O mighty ones do you really decree what is just? Do you judge mankind with equity? In your minds you devise wrongdoing in the land; with your hands you deal out lawlessness. The wicked are defiant from birth; the liars go astray from the womb. Their venom is like that of a snake, a deaf viper that stops it's ears so as not to hear the voice of charmers or the expert mutterer of spells. O God smash their teeth in their mouth; shatter the fangs of lions, O YHWH; let them melt, let them vanish like water; (a)let Him aim His arrows that they be cut down(a); like a snail that melts away as it moves; like a woman's stillbirth, may they never see the sun! Before the thorns grow into a bramble may He whirl them away alive in fury. The righteous man will rejoice when he sees revenge; he will bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked. Pastor Paul usually don't quote romans chapter 8 vs 1 completely it says There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus (he stops there) but what is said afterwards is very important which is.......who WALK not after the FLESH, but after the SPIRIT
