***** Listen to the stuff he made when he was unpopular, listen to the stuff he makes now that he is popular, note the difference. It's not exactly something I have the words to describe, but I'll try; he lost a lot of weirdness, his sound became more flattened out, less specific, not as wacky and funky. It wasn't meant as a judgement call, I just found it exemplary of a larger parable. In fact I'd say it's exactly the right direction to move in if you want to be pop. If he had stayed in the funkier, wackier zone his only chance at global popularity would be as a Frank Zappa / Rocky Horror kind of cult phenomenon.

Even after things started to take off, I did my best to carry on working with it. We were a team! Sadly, I realised it was probably time to give the studio a bit of a spruce-up. Calvin Harris has never changed, he was just more disco from 2007-2009. You would probably get sick of it if he kept making the same thing forever. And if you were a real fan, you would sit back and enjoy his time of music. Who cares if he's mainstream now? The quality is still great, and an artist has to evolve genres once in a while.

Every time I hear a new Calvin Harris song, I think back to this masterpiece and think "why isn't there more of that today?". Radio stations should put flashback songs like this on the radio and cut back on playing the same 5 songs all week. If I turned on the radio and this came on, I would stick with that channel a bit longer! If I hear All about that bass for the 3rd time that day, Im going to switch channels! Why doesn't Australian radio understand that?

Har Jo I agree too. He is as good as he used to be and his music has changed because the time has changed too, we can't stop that. What we all like is the previous years generally, when the most of the artists were making great songs, but according to the music stereotypes of these years! Unfortunately or not, today the music has changed according to today and the artists have changed as well.
