Personally, I love Calvin BECAUSE he doesn't seek the attention. He's genuinely himself, and who he is is not flashy or loud or in need of anyone's validation. Nothing wrong with social media if that's your thing, but I really respect a guy who doesn't try too hard, if at all.

He's a legitimately good guy, which seems to work within the sport. I'll be curious to see how long that can keep him afloat as the game continues to move forward. I would say he probably benefits the most from the inability for most companies to market their players. If that landscape was well developed, where would Calvin fall? Either way, he's made himself easy to root for. I hope he gets a major win soon.

I think Innova is missing a good marketing opportunity with Calvin. As a chemical engineer, I don't understand why Innova doesn't get him involved in plastic blends (CH1 CH2 CH3 would be good choices). Glitches and Tilts flew off the shelves for Simon and no one even uses them :) Everyone loves Vinnie and I think would buy Calvin blended plastic.

Calvin is just one of those likable guys. Great attitude...works hard....just a joy to be around it seems. I do think he's capable of a huge year......cant wait to find out.

I think Calvin is so popular because he's the one most disc golfers think would be fun to play a round with. It's what keeps Simon and Conrad in the mix. Too many of the pros come off as intense, or boring, or just plain awkward. And a lot of disc golfers are old enough that the young stars just seem irritating. Calvin just has the vibe of a great disc golf friend.

If you ever get to meet him, he is so funny and genuine. Honestly every pro I've met has been but he is one I'd definitely want to hang out with. Hopefully he gets that major this year! A worlds win would be incredible!

Calvin is a great champion. With all of the distractions in the world, the fragility of future big money tournaments, and an engineering degree in his back pocket, he may transition out of the tour sooner than we think bc he's not a disc golf merch slinger. Very few are.

Heimburg is threat at every tournament. For not having his forehand and starting out injured last year I’d say he had a fantastic year. He isn’t as cracked at putting as some others but he heats up.

I think Calvin is like James Conrad. He just doesn't like making content. He doesn't feed off of that social engagement like other players do. That is part of what people love about him I think.

Calvin is a top notch player and it would be foolish for Innova to even think about dropping him. 4th Place overall isn't bad compared to all the players out there. But, I do feel that he should put-out more videos on here.

Gannon and AB come off as a little bit like cocky young kids, AB more then Gannon. They are likeable just not as much as the others. Ricky just comes off as serious a lot of the times. But not like Calvin serious. Calvin has quick wit and can joke whenever. Anyways rant over.

Gannon acts like he is angry every single time he doesn't make a perfect shot. He complains every time a disc hits a tree or doesn't skip exactly as he intended. It is annoying to watch after a while. Meanwhile Calvin just goes about his business calmly and chill and with a sense of humor.

Love Calvin, he became my favorite right around pre covid. He's got it all, I swear tho, I feel like i know half the time when hes going to miss low on his putts... It also seems like he beats himself more so than other beating him. Like he would win a lot more if he could just sink more putts! These are his rounds to lose most of the time...

He's just such a likeable guy, but as much as I hate to admit it, I think we're entering the AB vs Gannon era on the MPO side. Vinnie has become a footnote at this point, which sucks.

I definitely see the point regarding “what value is there in social media presence” for the pros. As an example, I know Simon is good, and I enjoy his play. But I see no value in pumping out videos where trying to produce novelty trick shot aces are the high point. I’d much rather leave disc golf KZbin content to OT teaching me something practical, while the pros role is to make lead card so I can watch them on JoMez. Or if the pros do produce content, give me Ricky explaining his approach to play during a practice round, or have Paul teach me how to make consistent upshots. You know, practical stuff I can apply to actual play. If I need clowning around, I can watch old Warner Brothers cartoons.

I know what you mean. Leave the comedy to comedians and all but at the same time people eat that goofy shit up lol and who am I to tell people what to enjoy? I think Jomez did go a little too far a couple years ago when they did a practice round and everyone dressed up as cowboys lol. That was too much.
