Years ago I made an insect collection. I caught some insects and preserved them. Sadly the insects are now falling apart. I wish I had put something on them to preserve them. My mother tried to make me feel better by saying that nothing lasts forever but I still feel disappointed

Just like how i felt in elementary school considering most of my classmates and teachers didn't care about me much (granted with exceptions). Middle school was even worse. Not to mention getting hounded by bullies. I learned to hate public schools real fast

@@huntercoleman460 Yeah. But having to collect 50 insects and label them scientifically is an unnecessarily complex assignment for 1st grade.

@@SuperJamz64, Collecting 50 bugs is the easy part... they had a month to do it too. However, I am sure the parents were expected to help the kids with the labelling. . . not all kids are lucky to have such parents though.

@@aralornwolf3140 Exactly. The insect collection was definitely a doable assignment for Calvin, and it’s partially his fault for forgetting to do it. The leaf collection was ridiculous, though.

Not entirely his fault. Sure he had a month to do it and shouldn't have slacked off, but Like I said about the leaf assignment, 50 bugs is a criminal assignment for 1st graders. Plus his classmates and teacher don't really care about him or support him

Worms 🪱 are not insects so it didn’t really work to put one in his insect collection. He might as well have put a spider 🕷️ in the collection

Calvin was obviously not paying attention when he and his classmates were given the assignment of finding 50 insects 🐜 🦋🐝🐞🦗🦟🪰🪲🪳 and labeling them with their scientific names. A month would have been enough time for him to get it finished. And at the end of this story, Hobbes reminds him that he also has a book 📖 report to get done and he doesn’t remember that assignment either
