I also solve white on the bottom, I've also noticed most people solve top down a lot of the time which looks weird to me because i solve bottom up

I've been working on a regular 3x3x3 for about 6 months now and I'm pretty confident with it. I want to start moving into some 3x3 variations but I'm not sure which one I should start with, since I'm still pretty much a beginner.

...checker board on regular Rubiks twist looks weird because side diagonal edges "cut" centers in the middle (basically centers have two colors), unlike te Fisher twist were centers lie in te middle of te twisted faces...:)

I am wondering if it's possible for a ghost cube to be twisted as well. If it is, would it be more difficult? :))

personally I always start my solves with green on the bottom. I wanted to be different, and my favorite color is blue so I wanted that to be my up face. so we don't all solve white on bottom lol

Can anyone explain to me what makes the beginners method beginner? I don't know either method (I learnt how to do a 2x2 but never learnt the 3x3) but I'm wondering why the beginners method is (I assume) easier? Like if its just learning algorithms why not skip the beginners method and learn the (I don't know what it's called) 'pro' method? Is there a benefit to the beginners method? What's the difference between the two? how much harder is it to learn the pro method? (Once you've learn the beginners) And what makes the pro method difficult? Thanks :)
@crazybadcuber9 жыл бұрын
LemonBarchie The beginners method only has a few algorithms instead of a lot, and you work with only one piece at a time instead of many. It's just easier to learn.
@cookiebisquit72939 жыл бұрын
The beginners method consists of 5 stages; cross, corners, edges, top face (oll) and top corner edges (pll). With the true beginners method you need only two algs but need to repeat those multiple times in the oll and pll stage. The better or 'pro' method consist of 4 stages; cross, f2l, 1-look oll, 1-look pll. Which combines the corners and edges to insert them at the same time. For the oll and pll after learning alot of algs you can finish that stage with only 1 alg which is alot faster. Crazybad uses partly beginners for this because it's a shapeshifting cube and it's a lot harder to recognize the f2l pairs. In the oll and pll stage he used better algs then the beginners.
@Liam-zw4vj9 жыл бұрын
LemonBarchie most beginners methods sort of lay the foundation for faster methods example: a 3x3 isn't solved by sides, most of the time the people who go right to CFOP or fridrich have a harder time learning algorithms specifically OLL and PLL so what most people do is start beginners method and go to a faster one later on
@RockyLeQc9 жыл бұрын
LemonBarchie A beginner who chooses the advanced method first will past 20 minutes to solve the cube because he doesn't delevop any logic and he will allway search the algorithms. With the beginner method, you can learn easier and when you will do an advanced algorithm, you will understand them easier and learn it easier.

It's simpler to get the hang of and is good to use for shape mods. Also it's an easier way to think about it.

I'm quite new to cubing, ive only been doing it for a month but i can easily solve a cube and know f2l. Problem is i dont know any other method names besides pll, are there anymore methods? if not ill just learn pll.
@joel14189 жыл бұрын
Basically you are learning CFOP - Cross F2l OLL PLL. OLL stands for orientation last layer so basically you "complete" the opposite side to where you did the cross on and PLL stands for permutation last layer and that puts all the edges and corners of the last layer in the correct places and that completes the cube! Hope this answers your comment :)
