EP11: Mentorship, Gym, Hiking, Tech Gadgets | Day in the Life of a Meta Software Engineer in Seattle

Back for another episode of my day in the life as a Meta software engineer vlog series. It was an eventful week. I visited the new Atlassian office in Bellevue, WA with my friend during the grand opening and went on my first hike of 2024. I finally filled the empty void in my office with a new piece of anime art I purchased from Etsy. Also featured is my chest day fitness routine, my mentorship work at Meta and reviews of some of the tech gadgets I received recently.

The Atlassian office looks pretty nice. I just got an SDE2 offer at Amazon in Seattle so I’m gonna go there for a time, but looking at other places in the area is definitely interesting. Maybe if meta is hiring in two years or so I’ll try to hop there. Just gotta keep the leetcode skills sharp lol

You do not know the kind of smile it carved on my face, getting a notification "Calvin Li posted....". How are you my crush? 1- The shots are a lot better. Its more "you". 2- In some posts before, you love to post shirtless, please dont kill me that way 3- When you walk in with sisigad, that "pissed school boy" look is hillarious. 4- I experience assisting onboarding, more nerve-wrecking than doing core work 5- Love the outfit, I guess all can agree that there is a huge benefit keeping your tummy and waist in check 6- Heart dropped at 7:15. WHO IS SHE?? FRIEND AS IN FRIEND FRIEND? OR...??? 7- Here are some content ideas: - if you are doing deep work, record the whole process, 1hr should be alright - if its just eating or your "cafe" day, tell us the place, menu, and do you like it, but only about food. Like your snacks video. - your biography? Unless its not a personal life channel. This kind of post suits your style really well. Your aesthetic is more like "as life goes by, here is the next cafe..."

I like it here overall. It really depends on what you're looking for (night life, weather, big city vibe). Definitely do some research and/or visit before making the big decision. If you like the outdoors you'll love it here though!

I've slept without a shirt for as long as I can remember. It's just what's most comfortable for me. Sheets definitely make a difference though 😌
