Saturday 30th April 2022 saw the return of the annual Camborne Trevithick Day. The event is held on the final Saturday of April to coincide with the birth month of inventor Richard Trevithick. Trevithick was a British inventor and mining engineer, who is most famously remembered for his development of the first high-pressure steam engine (The Puffing Devil) and the first working railway steam locomotive, as well as significant contributions to mining with the use of high pressure steam. The day saw crowds of spectators that I personally have not seen for many years and it allowed for a special atmosphere as people celebrated a day they have dearly missed. This video is dedicated to the road steam that attended the event, and they are most definitely the main attraction for the event and should be quite rightly celebrated accordingly. Without Richard Trevithick's efforts and inventions most notably 'The Puffing Devil' we potentially may not have the steam traction engines we see today. So here's to Richard Trevithick and his invention of the steam engine.
