Cambrian Heritage Railways - A483 Level crossing to Llynclys/Dolgoch track inspection

Final part of the video. This shows what the non running line looks like from the permway go kart. Not long after the start expect to see a heron fly off in front of us. This shows what a great piece of railway infrastructure the CHR has available.... Again its made up of two videos as we stopped and started over the need to remove items that were on the line. I hope you enjoy viewing these little clips on what is for the future, a great trip on the CHR..

Having driven 25s,31s,37s etc up to Blodwell until 1988 it's great to slowly see this scenic line return. Could do with a shunting loco really,and a couple of wagons to remove the shrubbery!

We are at Weston and the A483 Level crossing, but developments require our drive to go no further at present. See the CHR website for recent activity, plus a new camfilm has been uploaded.

Wales and the West Country suffered heavily from the Beeching closures, I’m glad that enthusiasts are preserving these lines. Great for weekenders and tourism. Please try and restore passenger services

We are approaching the A483 Level Crossing as we are working at Weston Wharf where a new station,sidings and associated bits are being put in...try.....vimeo.com/430298639

What an amazing video! My grandparents lived in Llynclys and me, my brother and my dad spent many a afternoon walking the dogs along the track bed up to the quarry and in the other direction past the lake towards Oswestry 😊 We may have used some of the ballast over the years to skim into the lake as well 😂

Thank you for the comments, we are trying hard to get to Weston for mid 2018 and we are in the process of replacing the cattle creep bridge, the old steel had corroded, prior to Weston, and awaiting the CC to realign the supports for Gasworks bridge.
