That's a wonderful bible. Received mine last Saturday from Cambridge and posted our translations review already. It would be an excellent church companion bible. I love how Cambridge did this NRSVUE.

Take a look at what the Updated Edition did to 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. They intentionally distort the text. The Catholic Edition, however, does not.

How so?

@@chris12780 They translate "Arsenokoitai" as "men who engage in illicit sex" and have a footnote that says "Meaning of Gk uncertain," which is simply untrue. The word means "Sodomite" or "Homosexual."

Only the KJV is complete. All other new age versions remove thousands of words, distort thousands of verses and remove hundreds of verses. Even the NKJV is corrupt. The RSV, ESV and all others are far worse. Quick example: Acts 8:37, what does your version say? Nothing, because it's not there lol. A quick 10 second search on hundreds of websites will tell you this if you bothered looking.

@@chris12780 It translates "Arseconokoitai" as "men who engage in illicit sex" and has a footnote stating that "Meaning of Gk uncertain." There is nothing uncertain about this word. It is translated as "sodomites" in the older NRSV, and that is in fact what the word certainly means.

@@fr.johnwhiteford6194 Take a look at how the KJV and RSV translate those verses.

Cambridge, getting less trustful by the day. Love my KJV. The only version that doesn't remove thousands of words, distorts thousands of verses and neither removes complete key verses like Acts 8:37. A quick search will show you thousandsof websites that tell you which words and verses are missing or distorting. Scholars lol.
