And African Americans have been fighting for freedom since slavery. We fought for the right to vote. We fought for equal rights. We fought for jobs.

1. Lets be honest...These kids (now old men and women) in California were about as middle class as blacks could be in the late 60s early 70s. They didn't grow up in South Bronx style poverty. They were juvenile deviants, and spoiled. Their cousins in the south were jealous of them being able to move off and out of the south. 2. Their parents from the south were spiritual and followed God. These black youngsters in the 60s-70s turned their backs to God. And here we are today (the grandchildren and great grandchildren) left with the results of a Godless culture of gangs. We were set up y'all... by our "elders" 3. Their parents from the south didn't lie to them, they were trying to protect them.
@Somewherein800112 жыл бұрын
Let’s ignore the part where he said they left the south to escape prejudice and when the moved they ran into racism. Let’s ignore Jim Crow. Let’s ignore the fact that their parents were slaves or a child of a slave. Let’s ignore the fact that the cracc era was 10 years later.
@JRTexx2 жыл бұрын
@@Somewherein80011 1. Racism and Jim Crow LIVED in the South. No other place in the country did "race hate" better than the south. It had been there 400 yrs before Bloods and Crips. There was no gang CULTURE in Houston, Memphis, Atlanta, Miami, Birmingham, New Orleans, Dallas etc. directly after the civil rights movement on LA's level. 2. Many of these brothers who were Bloods and Crips had been in and out of YA or the pen multiple times before crack even hit the scene. They had already been on that path. These were just bad ass young kids man, period. THEY EVEN SAY IT. Their parents couldn't do anything with them. 3. Don't let them lie to you, they are old and ashamed...and if they aren't, they should be. They have a million excuses to why they gang banged. They chose this, many others didn't. There are some productive, God fearing, hard working black folk from that era in California that just chose different. Salute to Melvin and Marv for what they are trying to do, but this thing is beyond them now.
@najeequran95422 жыл бұрын
The elder’s? Wow so you said maybe or not came from slaves and if they was slaves they wouldn’t know what the truth of anything is RIGHT? So if they don’t know what truth is how could they set us up and set up is knowing what’s about to happen before the act is completely done RIGHT? And I’m from Chester PA ten minutes south of Philly Chester is the first city of Pennsylvania and there was race wars riots so I disagree with you on some points brother and I agree with you on some as well
@ajgrant5762 жыл бұрын
These were certainly not middle class black people of the 60’s /70’s. Most of them mention growing up in the Projects or other Slums and poverty-stricken areas.

Martin Luther King an Malcom X had the same goals for black people but but went about accomplishing those same goals in different ways , Martin was more calm when he delivered his message to the people Malcom was more harsh when he delivered his message, you can't be the nice guy all the time to get your point across expesually in today's generation you have to scare these kids straight or they ain't trying to here nothing you got to say to them until it's to late for them to change their ways an either end up in prison for the rest of their lives or dead because of the bad decisions they made in their lives.

Either he’s lying about the whole Biggie situation or he can’t remember well because Aaliyah, Ginuwine, etc. were at that party and there is footage of it. Also, that nation of islam stuff sounds fishy cause dudes that was there say it was a dude from the nation with a bow tie on that shot Biggie. They weren’t in limos either. Definitely a lot of holes around that story. The “we ate good that night, *laughs* in good mourning” when talking about how Aaliyah’s uncle profited off of her death was cringey too.
