I have found that the common theme whether it be young black men in gangs in the black community or young white men who end up shooting into a crowd of people there is one common denominator. Most of these young men have no father to be found. If you look at the rise in gangs or mass shootings it started after the destruction of the nuclear family. Prior to the civil rights movement the black family was completely intact but afterwards came the "war on poverty" it gave incentives to women to get free housing, food stamps and all kinds of public assistance but the only caveat was to not have a man in the house. Black women essentially married the state and now we have generations on welfare. Couple that with the feminist movement pushing for no fault divorce (divorce rates went up 300% after NFD was implemented) and it basically gave women and incentive to divorce their husbands based on the premise of "I'm just not happy anymore " and she could get the children 90% of the time meaning child support and alimony giving her the benefits of having a husband without having to be with him. Couple that with the barrage of bullshit that the media and Hollywood throw at society about putting the strong single mothers up on a pedestal and you have a recipe for disaster. The statistics of children raised by single mothers are heartbreaking. More likely to go to prison, more likely to drop out of school, more likely to abuse drugs or alcohol, more likely to join a gang, more likely to commit suicide, more likely to suffer from depression, more likely to have violent tendencies, more likely to become a single mother for the daughters. The list goes on and on. If we want to fix society, we need to fix the family. Children need balance. Women, you are the gatekeepers of sex, meaning unless you are raped it doesn't happen. You have an obligation to your future children to give them the best chance at success. The single most important job you have as a mother is to provide a good father for your children. It is detrimental to their wellbeing if you don't. Men, you have to be more selective in the women you choose. If she is an easy woman then she will not be a good mother for your future children. A lot of the time we as men spend a lot of time learning how to attract a woman vs spending a lot of time learning what kind of woman to attract. We are now seeing the chickens coming home to roost with all of these examples in the prison system, drug rehabilitation centers, gang members, and these young men who are told in society how bad they are just for being men and are the cause of all of societies problems and low and behold they finally snap and end up shooting up a crowd of people. These young men are angry because they have resentment for their fathers not being their whether it be through the family courts keeping them from their children or through a woman who chose the father of her children very poorly. It's not poverty, it's not movies or video games, and it's not guns that are the problem. It's the lack of the father in the home and the lack of morality and empathy being instilled at an early age.

You are mistaken, brother. Law -- is the will of the people in power (the rich nowadays). Those people in power need your money, so they create laws that help them to take it. Instead of sitting on the couch get off your ass and clean the place up. These people have no morals or self respect and it has been that way for over 50 years. If someone cleaned it up for them they would trash it the same day. I remember painting the brand new section 8 homes that were being built for the blacks in Chicago. They stole our equipment while we were working, robbed construction workers, and trashed the brand new homes before anyone could even move in. Pathetic. The homes were for them, why would they destroy them?

Used to work in City Hall in the mid 90's, and I have to tell you that Camden has been a desolate shithole for many, many years now. Saw the mayor at the time throwing parties with $700 bottles of wine, during a time when he was claiming the city was flat broke. Its been ruled by Democrats for a long time, and when I say ruled, I mean ruled. The party set up shop and sucked the city dry, and when it was a dried up husk, blamed everyone else for the lack of blood to drink, while it ran freely in the streets. The story of Camden is as tragic as it is disgusting, and the corruption of the Democrats is at the heart of its downfall.

+Sara Bower The Camden problem is only a matter of degree. The problem is EVERYWHERE in the US, and that problenm is the STATE. Murray Rothbard:The State is mankind's greatest earthly enemy, and a "gang of thieves writ large."This is because of the nature of the STATE:Murray Rothbard defined the state as: "that institution which possesses one or both (almost always both) of the following properties: (1) it acquires its income by the physical coercion known as "taxation"; and (2) it asserts and usually obtains a coerced monopoly of the provision of defense service (police and courts) over a given territorial area." Therefore, as Walter Block writes: "If it moves, privatize it. If it doesn't move, privatize it."

Jeeves McDoogle Has "government" done any better? Look at the results, and they are actually much worse than what you see in this sanitized video. My God, Camden looks and feels like a WAR ZONE! You write as if "profit" were a dirty word. There is nothing wrong with the "profit motive." You don't seem to realize that without it, we would all STARVE TO DEATH. Your thinking reflects the "Anti-Capitlistic Mentality" of which Ludwig von Mises wrote. Camden's problem is really fairly simple: NOT ENOUGH CAPITALISM. Every way that blacks turn, they are blocked from improvin, educating themselves properly, starting new business. The welfare state has ruined them by addicting them to their food stamps and welfare checks. They are PERMANENTLY disabled psychologically into a state of LEARNED HELPLESSNESS AND HATING OF WHITE PEOPLE. A little "profit motive" would work wonders in Camden! Good God, even the average drug pusher has a better grasp of basic economics than the average person in this welfare/warfare state.

You should all be cognizant of the fact that this is a 5 minute video specifically designed to highlight the poverty and criminal activity in Camden, and as such, the individuals shown in this video are not representative of the entire community, but merely show exactly what was intended. While yes, politics, poverty, society norms and drugs have been a long standing issue here in Camden (as most of you suggested), contrary to popular belief Camden does a lot more than produce "uneducated animals" as someone in another video suggested. I would know firsthand. I was born and raised in Camden and still reside here, yet, I have a Bachelor's degree and am currently in Law School pursuing my Juris Doctorate to become an attorney... so, no. We don't all "live off of the government", we aren't all "rappers", and we certainly aren't all "thugs". Show less REPLY
@FelFree6 жыл бұрын
Briana Nicole ... Beautifully said ... There is no reply to this thats why you didn't get one (excluding mine). People tend to harp on negativity . If a man lives a perfect life and commits one flaw, he will be remembered for the flaw rather than the efforts sacrificed to be as perfect as possible . Thats just human nature . At the same time the purpose of this video was to address the negativity so it seems more negative than positive . Hopefully adressing the negative will bring awareness of it to promote a positive change or outcome . However only focusing only on the bad will have adverse effects so I appreciate you inference by self example ... You go girl LOL . That in and of itself is the best argument to the video's negative perspective . ( from a Camden resident Pollock) Love and Respect Peace and God Bless ~1~

The scariest part about it is living there. As someone who lives there occasionally we have people knocking on our door every week and we have to pretend like no one is home. We even have to wear headphones just to watch TV. But because of lockdown it is getting a bit better because people aren't our as much. Also whenever we leave the house in the car hookers, and gang bangers knock on our window of the car. The hookers sexually harass my 14 year old little brother. If you think that is a lot that's only a small fraction. I dont wanna get into the rest because my comment will get deleted and most of it is personal.

In 1959 I was born in Camden. It was beautiful. Evening walks to the local ice cream store, riding my bike around the block, unsupervised. From kindergarten to fourth grade I used to walk 7 blocks to Dudley Elementary School. Once an Italian & Polish area it slowly moved to a Puerto Rican /Black area around 1969. That's when we moved to Cherry Hill. And Camden slowly sank into what it is today. So sad.

In 1960 about 25% of the jobs available in Camden were well paying unskilled jobs, primarily in manufacturing. By 1970 the number had dropped to 19%, by 1980 it was 9%, and by the end of the 80's the number had dropped to 3%. Every other job required some skill set that required the applicant to read and write. With most children reading at about a 3rd grade level by the time they left school at 16, this was the main cause of the decline of the city. It all really goes back to non-existent fathers. That is the root of all this misery. Men spreading their seed indiscriminately and then heading somewhere else and doing it again.

+Zagg777 The STATE is the problem.

Zagg777 That is all included in the criminal enterprise known as the STATE. THey are part of a international web of ORGANIZED CRIME without borders. However, another distinction is important to note. These crooks needs the facade of "government" to give them the illusion of legitimacy. Without it, they would lose the support of the people and they would collapse. In the final analysis, as Ludwig von Mises wrote, "All government is public opinion."

This is what happens with extreme capitalism overlaid with racism. Children in third world countries do the manufacturing for American companies that moved out of Camden, leaving an economic hole behind them. It's the same story across the midwest and much of urban America. Why pay an American a living wage when you can move your business to the third world and pay your worker 1 dollar a day? What do you expect from a country where businessmen are deified? If you look at Camden and don't question our economic system, you are the problem. I swear Americans must be the most close-minded people in the world with regard to their economy. The government is there for the people, not the businesses. The government, although a tool abused by the private sector, is the only thing a citizen has to defend himself against the business vultures that circle endlessly. But if you can't see that, then there really is no hope.

Camden used to be thriving. Back in the 1930's and 40's it was THE place to shop and go visit. Years of Progressive leadership destroyed it just like Detroit. I had the pleasure to work there for four years both at day, and later at night. I saw a lot of bad things happen. I finally had to quit, I was just tired of all the stress of constantly watching my front, sides and back nonstop. To say it is dangerous is honestly an understatement.

It’s not the government fault Camden is the way it is it’s the citizens of Camden they don’t change. The government is always dumping money into Camden to rebuild community centers, paying police officer and firefighters and the people of Camden are always destroying those communities center and or shooting at police officer. What’s the point in dumping any more money into that city when they’re just going to destroy what ever they get.

thomas singleton Actually it does - because when you're trying to make money BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY because there is no LEGITIMATE economy - ILLEGITIMATE economies can only be ENFORCE through violence. What is a drug dealer going to call the police and say, "Hey they stole my shipment!" NO - They're going to say - "LET'S RIDE ON THESE MOTHERFUCKERS" and then it becomes a cycle. You killed my brother, you killed my cousin, you killed my best friend - (it becomes personal) ONTOP of all the other kills that will transpire just out of the nature of the drug trade. I want his block - I'M GONNA TAKE IT! Motherfuckers who DON'T understand human nature give a desperate situation who sit comfortably in the suburbs behind a $2000 laptop MacBook really need to SHUT THE FUCK UP, because they speak on that which they don't know and then try to over simplify the problem. Stupid thing is that THOSE IN POWER have done a great and successful job of even convincing the people who are poor that it's their fault that they are poor and the children who eventually grow up as adults in the shit are merely just victims that are only cared about up until they enter adulthood, then IT'S ALL THEIR FAULT as to why they are poor, not the deindustrialization of America or job discrimination - suddenly it's they don't want to work the manufacturing jobs THAT DON'T EXIST!

Jobs have never been in abundance. That is why people say they are looking for work. Now how could you expect companies to provide jobs in areas like this where the people in the area are to lazy to work, and would rather hold you at gunpoint for their money. The white workers who would come into this area to fill the jobs, would be robbed daily, by these lazy inhabitants, so I guess I see your point if there were jobs in the area the inhabitants would have a more affluent people to rob thereby, stimulating the economy. Point well taken.

***** Why can't these people get together, form crime watch groups and clean up the litter all around their dilapidated neighborhoods? If they're mostly unemployed, they have the time to do something constructive in their community that doesn't even cost anything and would probably get cooperation and assistance from local government. They're too busy pimping their women, looting, vandalizing, break dancing in the street, pedaling drugs and blaming it all on the cops and white supremacy. Then the liberals come up with all these deep-rooted, psychological explanations for why they do what they do. It's never their fault.

Camden may be the worst, but rest of south jersey pretty bad too. and across the bay? philly? yeah center city is nice and rich, but also home to a huge amount of homeless. but the rest of philly outside of center city isn't to good either. i wouldn't look at philly like its heaven. politicians in the US are even criminals. rapist is now the president, what kind of behavior do you expect from citizens when their own politicians are criminals? On top of that, police do nothing about violent criminals. they spend their whole day harassing homeless, drugs and non violent crimes. corruption has killed the US.

I think of other east coast cities like Bridgeport, Connecticut. I remember the late 1950's when it was booming with companies like General Electric, and Remington Arms, etc. Not any more. When the jobs go, the crime rate (esp violent crime) soars. Gee, I wonder if there's a connection? (hint: sarcasm).

I'm questioning the legitimacy of this report because it's covered by LYiNG Brian Williams. Lol.
