The cholistan Desert (urdu :صحرائے چولستان; Punjabi:روہی چولستان), also locally known as Rohi , is a large desert in the southern part of Punjab , Pakistan that forms of the Greater Thar desert , which extends to Sindh Province and the Indian state of Rajaistan. It is one of two large deserts in Punjab ,The backbone of Cholistan economy is animals rearing.Few other livelihoods opportunities aside from livestock farming are available in the region. Agricultural farming away from the irrigated regions in a lower Cholistan are unavoidable due to the lack of steady water-supply.
