CAMEO 4 Cutting with CB09 Blade

In the Cameo 4 tool adapter, the CB09 hangs a bit over 1/16" lower. The blade has to be set very short. Defeats the purpose of having a longer blade. Maybe Silhouette will release a tool adapter for the 2nd carriage of the Cameo 4.

The second carrier is for thick and harder materials, it has a different type of motor. I doubt they will let us use anything that’s not made for it because it could damage the machine if used incorrectly.

@@kraftwithkay7331 I've seen a guy that made his own adapter, and placed a regular magnet to fake an autoblade. It worked on both carriages without hassles.

@@DesordenadoPeroUtil the issue here is that if it is not recommended by the brand there are no guarantees that it won’t damage the machine in the long run.

@@kraftwithkay7331 the brand will never recognize that since they are not profiting from blades. It's safe enough. I've used generic cb09 on professional grapthec plotters (original cb09 are not the same) for years, and never ever got an issue for using them. Of course, if you're a safe player, yes, you never have to use any accessories nor materials that those provided by the brand.

@@DesordenadoPeroUtil Since I help people with their Cameo issues, I simply cannot recommend this and risk them getting upset for any damage done. I understand it works for you and that’s absolutely fine. 😁

Hi, can you tell me exactly which you bought that fits? I have purchased 2 now from Amazon and neither fits the adapther like the one you had that did n't fit both of the ones I got don't. the holder won't close all the way and it won't fit into the machine even if I get it almost closed. So it looks like they are differnt circumfrences out there. Hate to have to but several to find the one that does fit.

I bought it from eBay from joycelijane. It came from Hong Kong. That was a long time ago though.

I do have another blade that does not fit well. This one fits good. It’s not as thick as my other one.

The auto blade only fits in slot one.

It has been so long ago that I made the video, I really can’t remember. Since I just moved the design over to cut, I’m pretty sure I used the auto settings for vinyl.

I don’t have trouble with it scratching the paper. Not to say I never had. I do have some little o rings I made from card stock to lift the blade just a bit if needed.

marsha ryan I don’t have any other blades. I want to get them and try them out. I actually use my Cameo 3 most of the time. I just can’t get the Cameo 4 to cut as well as the 3.

@@divalea Sorry I just saw this post! I still use my 3 for most projects. Maybe because I am more familiar with it. Both cutters cut just a bit different and I am use to the 3.

I have a CB09 blade & I use it with my cameo 4 but I have scratch marks all over my vinyl after it’s done cutting & I don’t know why it’s doing that. If anyone knows why it’s doing that lol I could use some help!

sha-von buan I had the same problem! It’s because the cb09 in the Tool 1 spot hangs lower than it did in the Cameo 3. I haven’t had time to find a workaround yet. Annoying!

For some reason I am just now seeing this post. I have some rings I cut from card stock that lifts the blade just a bit if it is leaving scratches on my vinyl.

@@soylattegrl I will try to make some since you are having this trouble with the ratchet blade. If I do, I will make a video on how to make them. It is simple. Just make two circles the size you need and cut out multiple with card stock. But, I haven’t used them with the ratchet blade.
