Hi there.... I would like if it is possible that you will make a video tutorial with a photo that I took a few days ago but at the time of editing it to correct the colors and lights sometimes I burn it or I do not have the real and natural colors ..... Yes it is possible here I leave my whatsapp +5352947911 to send you the raw photo ... Greetings from Cuba By the way, the tutorial is very good

Jay Malone Thanks a lot for this tutorial, I loved it!! However I have to agree with OP. I also wish to see the image changing. I don't think it makes sense to see the sliders instead, as nothing there changes but only the level/number (which you also mention out loud) and there's no need to see that. Seeing how the image changes is the interesting and useful part for learning :)

A good starter tutorial, thanks! I create brochures and displays for a construction-type company and end up with a lot of photos that look dark and dull just like your tractor image, so this really helped me. A couple suggestions--some may be echoed in other comments but I don't have time to peruse them all... 1) Please drop the music. It just becomes an irritant over and over. 2) We don't need frequent shots of your face/speaking. :) Just stay on the image so we have more time to process/understand what we're seeing. 3) A quick before/after flip after EACH adjustment would be helpful so we can better understand exactly what each adjustment is doing. 4) I'm ...astonished that you would save in a lossy format such as JPG, and THEN bring that back into Photoshop for more editing! Why not save in a non-lossy format such as TIF or, perhaps, as .PSD? Thanks again.

Loved the video and the final look of the tractor. Went from ordinary photo to a stunning piece of art. What a great job! I do have a question: I was unclear why you saved the image as a JPG and then applied further edits (the vignette). Don't you have to save the image again now, thus double compressing the image? And won't that wind up with a little quality loss? Is there a way to take the image directly from ACR into Photoshop, keeping it as a native raw file, apply the vignette to the raw file, and only have to save out the final jpg one time instead of two? Thanks again for the great video. Loved it.
@malonecustomdesigns

You are very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. You might could keep it in the RAW format and add the vignette in photoshop like you mentioned. I just kept seeing the two lens spots in the sky. I've always used Bridge/RAW, even though everyone I know uses LightRoom etc. To be honest, I'm way faster in RAW and can do a whole day's wedding shoot in about 90 minutes using it. Do a bit of batch name editing, the IPCC etc then send it off to PS to render them into JPEG, come back and publish. Job done! Great tutorial, clean your sensor ;-)

What does Image Raw give you that Lightroom doesn't? I have gotten used to LR and like it with the exception of just one thing (that's if I'm understanding how to use it correctly).In LR I have to view a PNG version of the RAW image based on the embedded profile the photo was taken with.The RAW image pops up for a couple of seconds when it first imports it,but after that I can only see the PNG. In Camera RAW you get to always see just the RAW image without any processing or conversion applied to it before you start working on it?
@malonecustomdesigns
@malonecustomdesigns 5 жыл бұрын
Chris, I will be totally honest with you, I've never heard that, so I was under the impression you were viewing RAW image in both software. I might be wrong though. And if you are used to LR, I would use it. Essentially you can do the same thing and more in LR than you can Camera RAW. I just prefer using Camera RAW and Photoshop as opposed to learning LR lol It boils down to using the tool or software that makes the most sense to you and gets the job done!
@chrisplunkett2814
@chrisplunkett2814 5 жыл бұрын
@@malonecustomdesigns Thanks for the answer.When LR first imports a RAW image,it is pale,washed out and not cropped.The after a few seconds you get a cropped image with contrast and more colour saturation etc.As I understand it a RAW image can't be edited in any way,so it has to be converted into an editable format such as JPEG or PNG before we can do anything with it.Unless of course I'm getting this completely the wrong way round?

Chris, it's been a bunch of years since I tried out LightRoom. Soon after, however, I switched to Camera Raw. I use an image browsing software called Photo Mechanic. When I export from PM, my image automatically opens in Camera Raw as a CR2 file. But in LR I've got to take an extra step, and convert the image to a DNG file in a separate software. It's too time consuming. Also, LR is slower than my Photo Mechanic to Camera Raw setup.

@@imagesfromLA I've got used to Lightroom now and have got it to do everything I need it to.It's not perfect,but I doubt very much if I'd gain anything by using another RAW image editor.

Could you please do a similar video with a portrait? Would love to see how you edit people photography. This was super helpful, thank you!

I'll see what I can do sometime. I will say that my portraits normally require very little editing in Camera RAW. Especially the ones that I shoot in my studio! Great, consistent lighting is a timesaver!

Hi Jay, liked your video,was slow enough for me (Photoshop beginner) to take notes. Also the way showed the process of going from Camera Raw to Photoshop to flatten the image.

How many changes I can make to my photo without spending hours and hours in photoshop! I’m completely new to camera raw and this will change my photos forever! It’s super cool how you can make the photo look like it looked in real life when you took it.

Yes!!! I think you will find that shooting and editing RAW files in Camera RAW will open up so many doors to giving you the best photos! That is very similar to fine-tuning in the darkroom in the film days! If you come across a particular question....let me know. Always looking for stuff to make new videos on :)
