I bought one of these from Sierra for $1200 right before Christmas. It is my first pedal kayak. I LOVE it! If anyone wants a pedal kayak but doesn't have $2000+ to drop on a premium brand, then this is your #1 choice at this time. Seastream has insanely good customer service. Mine came missing the drive and I called them up and they sent one to me 2-day air with no arguments. That one I got had a bolt torqued on waaay too tight and it snapped trying to take it out to install the pedal. They sent me another drive immediately again. Tip: glue the 3 rubber bumpers on the drive in place because they fall out easy and the drive will wobble more without them. Also, go over the kayak with a screw driver to tighten everything because some stuff is loose and the clip for the drive to hinge onto needs to be unscrewed and adjusted for fitting the drive. I got to the lake the first time and couldn't hinge the drive in and had to paddle back to my truck to get a screw driver to fix that. Otherwise I highly recommend this kayak.

Great info! I didn’t realize the lock could be adjusted!

@@CameramanRon Yeah the metal lip on the kayak has three pre-drilled holes that you can adjust to hinge the drive on for the perfect fit. Mine was uneven so I couldn't get it on there.

Hey Ron, great vid. I have had that exact kayak for a year now. Very pleased with durability, stability, tracking snd general speed. I had a nightmarish experience fishing a tiny Alabama creek after a bad hurricane came through. Rammed about 50 fallen trees head on because they had blocked the entire width of the creek! Rotomold held up perfectly! Wish it had some rod holder, tackle cups or slots in front of seat though. But overall a dependable pal set up fosho. Fun to be on the water with.

My concern is that paddling might be a little too physical for me after a little while. Should that be a concern and what method would you recommend for my first kayak?
@kevinvargason8835 Жыл бұрын
You could certainly handle paddling but a pedal drive opens up a lot more distance and water. Also you can control positioning as in forward and backwards while casting. If you are going to be in skinny water like alot of creek fishing then the pedal would likely just be in the way.
