What an interesting story about the making of the picture “The Informer” as told by Cameron Mitchell.
@boostergold91602 жыл бұрын
I just realized that Cameron Mitchell had a bit part in an adult film back in 1983 called Dixie Ray Hollywood Star (1983). He portrayed a hard nosed but laid back police detective. IMDB doesn't list this film credit. However, Cameron is listed by name in the credits at the end of the film. He shared screen time with John Leslie and as I watched the two exchange lines, I laughed so hard because I was like that is Cameron Mitchell in a skin flick from 1983. However, true to Cameron Mitchell, it was a great scene and John Leslie did a great job as well! I am not sure how the hell they got him to do it but it didn't seem to hurt his Hollywood career... LMAO!
@gianca60 Жыл бұрын
John Leslie was a decent if not good actor. One of the few in adult film industry that could act .

I read that Victor McClaughlin was told by Ford that he,Victor, had the day off from the filming of '''The Informer.''' Ford knew Victor would drink on his day off. He then called Victor to come in on his(VM)day off to shoot the scene which was Ford's plan all along.. He knew Victor would be hungover & Ford could use that for the character's disorientation.

Terrific. Thanks for posting this. What Mr. MItchell says about Ford looking for accidents also applies to the work of Orson Welles and Jean Renoir, who were both big big fans of Mr. Ford.

Great stories .He was great in his western t.v. series too
I first saw Cameron Mitchell in a film when the nuns at the Catholic school I attended showed to my 3rd grade class. I cannot remember the name of the film. I do remember it was about a pioneer family traveling West. The parents were killed. The father was played by Cameron Mitchell and the mom was. Played by Glynis Johns. The movie was originally released in 1957.

Love Cameron what a brilliant actor. But this shows what drinking and smoking can do to your looks. Cameron was gorgeous when younger. His lookalike son Cameron Jr is almost the same age as his dad now and looks fantastic and is a testament to what taking care of yourself can do.

2 thoughts: 1) It might have been a good directorial technique, but to allow the actor to go the rest of his life thinking he flubbed this crucial scene is just simply mean-spirited. 2) My Mother came ashore with the 1944 U.S. Philippine invasion force before MacArthur “returned”. Neither my Dad (Navy) nor my Mother (Army) had any respect for “Dugout Doug”. But, they loved Eisenhower, Halsey, & Nimitz.

@Sunshine Baker What does porn have to do with whether people have seen Cameron Mitchell?

@Sunshine Baker Oh my, of course I had heard of him and watched terrific older movies

I've known the name and the actor since I was a kid in the 1970s.
@scuddahey83614 жыл бұрын
@Sunshine Baker Actually Cameron Mitchell did a porn movie in 1983. It was called "Dixie Ray, Hollywood Star." He didn't have any porn scenes himself, but it was a hardcore porn film about a murder mystery in the 1940s. They released it in a hard R-rated version called "It's Called Murder, Baby" as well.
