It's definitely more competitive, but I would still argue that the Cougar and Kindred are very competitive in those spaces.

It's the weapon that made me start to have a K/D ratio higher than 1 years ago back when I played on PS4 so it'll always be close to my heart. Having started to play the game again recently on PC, I think I'll get it again, especially since I am quite the poor shooter as it turns out, average on a good day I'd say.

Since the arsenal update and gaining 0.75ADS, the T5 AMC has been my go-to TR carbine (even in scrim/competitive enviroments) Consistency and movement - what more could you want!

I always liked the T5, but I use it as more of a midrange skirmish weapon as opposed to getting down and dirty like the TRAC or Lynx. It's a dream for taking out Infiltrators that get careless with their sniping on mountainsides, or for keeping a MAX stressed while typically not presenting a big enough threat to become its main target.

You weren't wrong. It's okay at best. I'd rather use the TRAC5 or the Cougar. Same thing for the Rhino. I finally got around to auraxing the thing and I hated every moment of it. They may be easy to aim but their killing potential is trash even when used in the bubble they're made for. Wish they'd give it an overhaul like they did the TMG 50, which is the only LMG I use at mid range now. Outstanding squad support weapon.

Oh, I agree, this is far from an A tier weapon. But it is certainly better than I gave it credit for originally, hence the video. Cheers mate!

@@M1kst3r1 Yep! With that muzzle velocity AND 20 max damage range silencer doesn't "hurt" the weapon at all. You can't go wrong with that build! 🦾

TBH, all those 650rpm guns feel the same to me. NS11c/A/M Rhino/Bulldog and AMC are all very small variations of each other Also they lack the dmg of 167dmg guns or the firerate of the 750rpm guns. They are so awkardly in between these 2 damage and rpm categories

I loved the T5 AMC and the updated version is beastly. It's definitely unfit for CQC aaaand... that's it - no other downsides to speak of. Realistically, the "high skill ceiling" guns, which tend to kick like a mule, are simply more *flexible* and that's their advantage. You won't be getting that sweet TTK at longer ranges because the weapon forces you to burst almost immediately and thus make up for *some* of the lost accuracy - the result is usually inferior to a dedicated mid-long range platform, but still workable. Meanwhile, the laz0rs won't magically up their ROF when in CQC.

I agree, there is no "taming" RNG. If this was like CSGO and the guns had actual recoil patterns then I would disagree, but planeside uses a lot of RNG in its recoil so.

@Altair4611 Indeedio. We can compensate for directional vertical recoil and try to get a grip on the COF by bursting. It's usually enough, though you won't turn a CARV into a Rhino (which is as it should he, I guess). I happen to like PS2 gunplay a lot, but my point is that you won't be able to morph one weapon into another using the magic of "skill" and that's a good thing. :)

Comparing it to the Bull and Rhino is a good comparison. On paper, you wouldn't think they're good. But they are. They're extremely good. Way better than you think. They're super reliable and there's almost no variance. The guns simply do what you want it to all the time. This makes them far better than guns that are unreliable and force you to change your playstyle, or run particular attachments to make up for the shortcomings of the weapon.

I auraxed this gun before the arsenal update and understand why it was placed in the carbine tier list then. The randomness of the first shot recoil made the NS-11C an easy better choice. What I appreciate is that it feels the devs looked at every weapon places in D/E tier since then and tried to give them roles in the field and I feel at least for this rifle they found a good spot for it.

You are confused. The T5AMC always had less randomness with recoil. NS-11C only was good because of 0.75X ADS movement speed, not because of better recoil.

Yes the T5 always had less degree of vertical recoil than the 11C, when I say random I am referring to the horizontal spread (20 degrees) with a left right check of the pre arsenal T5, which was horrible compared to the 11C. Less horizontal recoil >> less vertical recoil. All this is mute now, as the recoil angle was changed to a flat 0 making the T5 a compelling choice to the 11c

Yo Cami, I wish you a happy and healthy new year! I also got to notice that the CB-200 is much more fun to play since the RPM buff, once you get a little used to the recoil pattern this thing murders in medium distance with almost laser accuracy. My setup: (Able 1x red, Supressor (they seem to have changed the sound... love it), forward grip and high velocity amunition)

Switch out high velocity for soft point ammo. The cb200 has a monsterous 3 shot headshot kill range. Even with silencer , this gun hits 167 dmg up to 20m

I can't really explain why but I loved this gun. It felt like a mini Rhino and I found it really stable and easy to control.

Pros: + 0,75 Ads + Highest Carbine velocity, making it incredibly suppressor-friendly + 40 rounds+fast reload + Can 4x HSkill at all ranges now + Consistent and easy to control recoil. Challengeing players at range is incredibly easy with this gun. Cons: - low RPM makes you suffer in cqc, if you're bad at aiming and tracking - hipfire CoF feels unreliable. "Aerial combat" may be suboptimal All in all a fantastic gun to auraxium. Used it since its arsenal update buff and loved it. (scored a 2.3kpm and 4.1kd on this gun)

>hipfire CoF feels unreliable. "Aerial combat" may be suboptimal It's actually the most reliable hipfire CoF, in the TR arsenal at least. 2 mid-air aerial hipfire CoF, matched only by Jaguar, and 0.06 bloom per shot in comparison to Jaguar's 0.1.

People use the T5 AMC? I mean, in the hands of someone who isn't me--that is someone who wont need a cybernetic spine to stop having erratic electrical impulses making it near impossible to aim--then yeah, it fits the role of "Automatic Marksman Carbine" better than it has for nearly 10 years. But as i play pointhold more than open field I rather use the NS-11C now that it has the discount archer addon: ubgl. ps: didnt realize you changed your theme song. it's nice.

I feel consistency is something you need for a class such as engineer as the more brain you turn off the better the brain is at holding the machines of war in the fight. I personally run Punisher Grenade and standard repair grenade as well as run normal repair methods. I'm able to lightly heal 2 vehicals while healing a main target. Yeah I'm mostly support and my secondary is still the starter pistol, but the armored push needs that kinda power at times. Other times I'm over run with light assaults and flicking to enemy flying targets and trying to make maximum use of a weapon depends on the faction. Normally I just default to a DMR style and shoot after respawn. This weapon would be perfect for the average player who has too much to do with too little time to function. That said, a weapon with piss for recoil can cause you to get heavily rusty with other weapon choices you run on other classes, thus causing your aim to shift heavily if you play 1 class for a long time before switching. I dont really mind recoil or dieing so long as the objective is won, but some people want to stick the fight just as much as engineer duty. Better then nothing battle engineer is entirely possible still with my kit. Power to a players skill, I still remember for 5 days when I first started playing that every heavy I ran up against with the NC engineer didnt stand a chance. But suddenly I ran into a hold out and a TR soldier threw up the over shield and a solid LMG and I thought "Ehh, fancy effects" and got vaporised under the hail of gunfire. New players are faced with learning experiances and challenges that dont speak volume, so it makes sense to add a weapno that has little to no recoil and low damage out-put. The starter carbines reflect this and they can slap just as good in the right situations. However there are min max players that preferance there weapon to play style. So Camikaze78 here has a more light assault and more mobile game-play (flanking and using the scalpel where the advantage shows itself) where as I'm better in a hold out siege or defensive one. An engineer out in the open without armor or alternative is useless. So the weapon view makes sense, its your review list!

I'm curious why you have forward grip in vid since left/right angle is 0 degrees now. Older footage? T5 has truly always been the only reliable mid to long distance choice for my LA, while descent enough as per movement & ads at close ranges (good enough hip). Best "all arounder" ranged TR carbine for LA hands down excluding maybe the Tanto, but thats NS.

Because the forward grip still limits the "horizontal shake" of the weapon - that still exists. Horizontal recoil is made up of the horizontal shake, the horizontal tolerance which limits how far the horizontal shake can go in a certain direction, and the horizontal angle, which rotates the weapons recoil pattern either left or right. The only element that was buffed was the horizontal angle. I have a full video going over this in more detail if that interests you mate!

I agree with the logic behind your points , but I do think you overestimate them a little bit. The threshold theory is just but since it doesn't apply on all scenarios, I would put this weapon closer to B tier , considering the fact that on skilled players it'll be , not necessarily better than others, but significantly more consistent than rivaling carbines from mid to long range and because while those close-quarter traits aren't the highest kill output potential (Meaning that by an equally skilled player with a stronger damage output weapon, you are more likely to lose most of those gunfights), its still the type of traits that give a huge advantage towards a fast, good aiming and repositioning player. So given what I say above, I think C might still be a little bit too harsh , but perhaps im rating it a little bit more biased towards specific gameplay, while you rate it as an overall-all situations weapon. I loved your input though , both on the tier-list video and here because you give alot of perspective and helped me out planning my auraxium goals which were achieved not long after your original video.

I wouldn't say that's true - the Cougar and the Kindred both beat out the T5 in ranged engagements in the hands of a skilled shooter. That's a fact, but they are comparatively harder to control, hence the thresholds that are in place. Given the other weapons we put in C tier, there's no way we can put it above. It's nowhere near reaching the ability of the weapons that are in higher tiers.

Haven't played the game in ages, but didn't Bull have 0.75 ADS speed and fastest reload of terran LMGs? I remember it being my favorite while Rhino was the worst thing ever even though they had the same DPS.

Thank you! While i wont nessesarily switch to it just yet, you've shown me that it is a weapon i can see myself use. Ease of use and accuracy are important to me as my aim is dogshit sometimes, so i might just let go of my underbarel granade for a bit

The skill-ceiling thing doesn't really ring true. If we imagine not just an aimbot but a _recoilbot_ that perfectly manages recoil at any given range, then the ideal weapon balance for high DPS short-ranged weapons vs. low DPS long-ranged weapons is the long-ranged ones win with perfect play at longer ranges. If that's not true, then the high DPS guns are simply overpowered (ie if you can manage the recoil to still get good perf at range, then the game just isn't balanced). So high DPS weapons will only 'always be better, just git gud' if a game is unbalanced.

Not true. If you give a "laser beam" weapon the same TTK, if not a better TTK than the weapons that actually take more effort to control the recoil for, then that is an imbalance as well. Hate to break it to you, but the high DPS weapons are simply, unequivocally better, than the likes of the T5 AMC. Statistically, this is true.

​@@CAMIKAZE78 By saying they're better, you're agreeing with me there's an imbalance (because high DPS weapons perform overall better at every range). I'm saying that if that's true in a game, then the high DPS weapons need to be less accurate or worse DPS, or worsened in some other way so the "laser" accurate ones are balanced with them. That is possible, and should be pursued if a dev is interested in truly balancing things. The alternative is players only go for those high DPS guns because they're the only truly viable option.

Yes the T5 AMC is better now thanks to the 0.75ADS movement, easy recoil, and high muzzle velocity. It is better than the NS-11C. If only it kept the advanced forward grip.

So, Cami, what we have to do now is push an agenda that Jaguar needs an 800 rpm fire rate in order to compete with the S tier VS and NC 800-845 rpm carbines. Also make sure you stress the point that there has to be NO nerfs in other areas to "compensate" for that buff, because remember - we are merely brining the Jag up to speed. The fact that they get a reliable high rpm carbine while we, the Terrans, have to contend with a wild animal the Lynx is, is ridiculous! The Justice must be served.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the jag is a longer range carbine. I wouldn’t mind it having a buffed fire rate if the fire rate on acx was also increased. Also I very much disagree with an S-tier GD-7F.

"Was I too harsh.." yes. Yes you were too harsh. The T5 is a specific kind of weapon. It's a specialized weapon and it's got a lot of traits that help people and the updates have been kind to the gun. It's very accurate and that's very friendly to players who are struggling with popping heads.

Objectively, a weapon being easy does not make it good against the other options. As I said in the video, it's a weapon that is optimized based on ease of use and doesn't require much in the way of practice to make the most of. In order to achieve that, it is statistically a worse weapon comparatively when it comes to potential. Still, it's better than it used to be.

I was terrible at light assault for a while because I was playing it as a marginally more maneuverable infantry class. Short version: if you're entering your target the same way as your squad/platoon, you're doing it wrong. Find a window, find another door; even if you can't get through the window, use grenade bandolier and fill the point room with grenades and C4. Also, go ambusher jump jets and bypass the objective so you can attack it from the defenders' avenue of approach. If you get a kill, reposition; switch your height, quickly disengage to let your shields recharge and attack again from another angle. Worked for me at least.

My biggest issue with amc is I don’t feel that there’s really a good comparison for the NC or VS that truly is similar. I mean yeah NC you could make the argument of the razor but I find the razor to be pretty bad overall. The acx also isn’t quite close enough for me and I’d say it’s also quite finicky. Best comparison I could give is gauss prime which is an AR. Not saying that NC have no equivalent or that they even should. Just that it’s become a brain off gun which I find lacking in NC for the same ranges as a carbine.

PlanetSide is a master class in how to design weapons in a first person shooter. Weapons that are high around the a tier and s tier test your skill by having the player battle the weapon recoil while aiming; pure motor skill. While some weapons have a lower skill ceiling but also a very low skill floor by splitting the skill requirement past the motor and putting more emphasis on tactics through giving the player a slight advantage in every single engagement besides raw damage; it gives you the option to do something that might win you every single fight. For the 659s and 550s, this is a question of where you position and if you should use hip fire to make yourself faster to force the other player to use more motor skill.

you were 100% right placing it in E tier originally, it's amazing now but pre anniversary update it was among the worst guns in the entire game.
