What she is doing is just straight away bonkers. As she told in the podcast- she knew it would be tough on this course to break the Men's world record but she held her pace off & told herself what is the best she can do. Going into the race with a positive outlook for troubleshooting & the energy she exudes is great to see. And the main thing about the long runs is way hard to understand from people's perspective that how can she not have her long runs more than 2 hours or maximum 3 hours. I recently ran my first Backayrd Ultra race on 10th February where I completed 12 loops and got lost on the 13th loop, I was running sub7 min mile pace in the last 10 mins of the 13th loop to get back to the course but couldn't. My find was way fucked up from the fuck up I did at the race I entered the race knowing it is totally unknown to me but I knew I could win this race and there was no kind of fatigue after running for 13 hours & 90 Kms. Then I ran my first ever 24 Hour Track Run hoping to run 150 miles or 241 Kms in 24 Hours to get qualified for Team India for World Champs next year. I knew this was a tall order task to hit 24 Hour format in first knowing the furthest I have gone is last month. Prior to that I had run a 30 Km race with 2100 meters of elevation gain in October. But I fucked it up again at the race- there were a a lot of factors but b/w 5th & 6th hour something went off and I had run 70 Kms in first quarter of the race. Mentally something fucked up & negative thoughts started to creep in with sabbotaging myself by saying you are a boatload of crap, you don't belong here, you can't nail any race till date, you can't do any better in life in any walk of life, you just fuck up every thing you try to do, you are letting down every other person that has come to support you. This was just there in the mind for almost 75% of the race. At the end I could just run 176.4 Kms which is way below my fitness, I didn't consume any calories for couple of hours multiple times because of the negative spiral of thoughts. I kept my training around 180 to 200 Kms with 10000 feet of vert every week and kept long runs not more than 3 hours which I got from Camille Herron. There are people doing 12 Hour training runs(running around 135 to 145 Kms) in India right now for the preparation for 24 Hour Asia Oceania Championship on 6th April, 2024. then I have been questioning even my training was good enough to stand amongst the best. But I know you can't see other people's training and question everything because there is no one way to train. As recently I listened to Emily Hawgood- she told she runs 60 miles every week, Jess McClain ran super fast time in Marathon Trials on 75 miles per week, Rachel Drake ran 2:36 in marathon on 55 miles per week, last year Jacquie Manhard won Leadville on running 50 miles per week, Adam Lipschitz ran a 2:13 marathon on 90 to 100 Kms per week, Sophie Power runs 24 Hour format on minimal volume, even D.Bo bro you didn't put crazy numbers while preaparing for WSER and even Clare doesn't puts up huge numbers. On the other spectrum there are- Jim Walmsley, Zach Miller, Zach Garner,Dakotah Lindwurm,Sorokin,Cam Levins, and what Taggart Vanetten does. Way to go with building the Freetrail brand and you are amongst the pioneers who are trying to build the sport in order to give back a lot of things. Hope to see you on some of the starting lines, will be rooting for you. The only reason I have come to know I ain't performing to my potential is the mental fuck up I have been going on for last couple of years has gone out of the roof now, hope I can try to fix it.

22:06 Super interesting! I might start trying that too, breaking up my 25+ mile long runs into 2 or 3 chunks throughout the day. The thing that's hard is, I have to travel between 1h30 - 3 hours to get to good trails, and as a single mom, schedule-wise, it's easier to just get it all done in one go, but I'll do what I can do
