Camino de Santiago - Day 24 - León to Villar de Mazarife - Camino Frances

There is nothing worse than a really long day of travelling (up at 3.30am, drive almost 2hrs, get a flight, then miss a train, get another, then walk...) than to not get a good night's sleep... but that is what happened and it encouraged me to leave León earlier than planned.

I'll put it down to Devine guidance, as it did help make for a short day's walk at the end of my few days.

The walk out of the city is a relatively easy one until the last moment when you walk uphill and are eventually able to look back and see the hill on the opposite side of the city from whence you came.

León seems to be one of those cities that you should have a rest day in (if it is mid-week... not at a weekend), though you may not do too much resting as you explore the city's treasures, architecture and food.
