I think Leon was my favourite stop - and I took a "tourist" day here as well. Beautiful city and so full of energy. I am glad Mark got some rest and some new meds/devices to combat his plantar fasciitis!

Hey Mark....not sure if you managed to get into the Cathedral yourself there in Leon, but wow...what a building 😲.

@@EverydayJourneysTV No I didn't go inside any of the cathedrals...I'm not religious or spiritual at all, but I do enjoy the history and architecture

You ALL are such good sports and calm natured about this. But if an injury will be had Leon is a great place for rest. Animo. Buen Camino and enjoy the churros and chocolate

Leon was an amazing place for Plantar to kick...we are definitely going to revisit when we can 😃

I noticed Mark had quite a knot in his calf muscles. I'd highly recommend getting a foot and leg massage. It can do wonders, especially as your body sometimes compensates for a weakness in one area by putting weight on another area, such as on the heel in this case. I was able to give a massage to a fellow walker and within 5 minutes her knot was gone, it can make a huge difference, as I'm sure other walkers will testify to. Drinking lots of water is also a huge help. Anyway this is all probably academic as you have likely already completed the Camino by now. Loving your videos. Setbacks like these make for very watchable videos! Everyone likes hurdles and challenges: real drama to overcome.

Planta Facitis, get a tennis or golf ball and roll it under your foot when you finish walking for the day, you need to stretch the foot

I knew it was plantar fasciitis as soon as you said it was your heel and shooting up! I said it out loud to my girlfriend and you literally come out of urgent care saying you had that! PF is so painful. I had it in my late 20's for a bit and actually got cortisone shots in my heels which I would not recommend to my worst enemy. You and Louise were such troopers through all the feet issues! Also, I don't know what vlog is was but my girlfriend and I were like, "How does he know so much about tractors!?" LOL So how do you?
@EverydayJourneysTV2 жыл бұрын
Hey Ellen...lol, PF is soooo painful, I swore quite a bit off camera 🤣. Louise and I are so more aware of what we put our feet through and are taking so much more care of them. The tractor segments...lol, I actually know nothing about tractors apart from Farmers use them a lot 🤣. I would entertain myself by just seeing what I saw and then describing it to the camera...it then became 'a thing' on the trip. We often fell about laughing off camera about some of my descriptions (the kids walked on very embarrassed) of the tractors.

Stretching is very helpful with plantar fasciitis. Stretch in the morning at least. It makes a definite difference.

Just keep awalkin’ I’ve had it twice and resting doesn’t help in my opinion and it usually lasts 8 months. Always worse first thing in the morning. My advice for what it’s worth is get a pair of Birkenstocks and wear them once you have stopped walking. Interesting to see how you got on as You have now finished your walk.

Morning....it is still playing up a bit and we are due to fly out to Seville in the next fews days, going to investigate Birkenstocks as a go to when chilling. 👣

Fitflops - the microwobbleboard technology. I suffered for a year with PF and now wear these all the time except when walking when I have a custom orthotic. Defo the fitflops MW for all other times. Did 320km on the Camino this May

Foot injury 😳... that was my fear, being forced to take a 2-3 days rest (and u know I don't like rest days😉)... Anyway - Beer and wine always helps 😊

There are places available and we had heard of other Pilgrims that had taken other opportunities of free health support for there blisters etc. We didn't see this offered, however, if any of our followers know please comment below 👍
