Yes. It was lots of fun. We ran into three sets of fans on this trip. It was very exciting!

Catherine from Liverpool here! 😊😊😊So much fun to watch your video. A real pleasure to meet you both. Such a great day. Seeing the horse, made me laugh because we had to do a detour because my friend was really scared of it, it kept blocking her way! Will continue to watch your adventures with interest! Buen Camino ❤❤❤

6:13 I was just going to say "nice bridge!" and then you tell me there are even more!

10:55 The problem with youtube is, you only get one like. a) a steep path that's recently been concreted with grooves to help you not to slide (saw such things elsewhere) b) a Romance style Church with a porch a poor pilgrim too far from the albergue (not the case, perhaps) could lie down under. Betanzos is a nice place!

Betanzos is lovely. I would like to go back.

8:33 In at least British English, the tree is called a "medlar tree" -- I suppose what you just called it is in US English? I recognised the Gallego way of calling it better. And, I _do_ like those trees. And the fruits.

Ah, loquat! _"Until recently, M. germanica was the only known species of medlar. However, in 1990, a new species was discovered in North America, now named M. canescens. The loquat, Eriobotrya japonica, is more distantly related to the medlar than genera such as Crataegus, Amelanchier, Peraphyllum, and Malacomeles, but was once thought to be closely related, and is still sometimes called the 'Chinese medlar' or 'Japanese medlar'."_

“The Old English name for the fruit was openærs, literally "open-arse," probably so called for the large puckered "eye" between the calyx lobes.”
@hglundahl11 ай бұрын
Indeed, but the loquat is a somewhat different thing, actually. (Loquat is an approximation of a Chinese composite word).
@hglundahl11 ай бұрын
There is another possible reason for the name. Lots of medlars make for a laxative, pretty much as lots of plums, or even more.

11:28 13 miles seems to be 20 km = what I do on a _good_ day. Or did back in 2004, when I was 35~36. Now I'm 55, not so sure.

9:30 Seeing Molly stroke the white horse, could hold back the like no more. Your first like, btw, and should the world or the internet not end, certainly not your last.
